ALIVE WORD: Fear God – Part 1

The Richardsons

“…yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God,which fear before him.” Ecclesiastes 8:12

If ever a time we truly need to fear God, it is now.  If you truly realize that it is God who made you and who is keeping you alive, you would then see the importance of fearing God and giving him thanks and praise by living your life for Him.  However, if for some reason the devil has deceived you into thinking or living as if you made yourself, you will neither have regard for God nor man.

In John 3:16 we read “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  Jesus Christ did not have to die for the sins of the world but he did.  He did it because of his love for us, so that we could be reconciled to God.  Do you fear God?

People who do not fear God have a tendency to swear and take the Lord’s name in vain.  “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.” Exodus 20:7

It is only the mercies of God that some people are still alive, still sane, still have a family, still have a job, still have a home, still have peace, still have good health and strength.  Yet inspite of all this many refuse to fear God.  For some, education, social status has plunged them into a mindset that God is someone to be ignored, someone for people who are ignorant or illiterate.  Others think that only fools believe in God then of course there are those who say that there is no God.  “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.” Psalm 14:1a

Wisdom is acquired by fearing God.  “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.” Psalm 111:10  Not only that but those who fear God hate evil, pride and arrogance.  “The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.” Proverbs 8:13

People who fear God hate evil and the evil way.  Why?  Because there is a deep conviction within that there is accountability and responsibility for all actions.  “So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.”  Romans 14:12

It is a very dangerous and deadly thing to live without the fear of the Lord.  “The fear of the Lord prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.” Proverbs 10:27  In Psalm 36:1-3 it goes on to say “The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes. For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful. The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good.”

Each of us should be mindful of what we say and do and the way that we treat others.  Those who do not fear God look around but those who fear God look up.  God is all knowing, all powerful, all seeing and He is everywhere.

Some have acquired wealth, riches, positions and possessions because of unscrupulous and evil means.  They took no thought of who they had to trample or what they had to do to get what they wanted or who they wanted; for the fear of God is not in them.  However, such people need to realize that pay day is coming for them.  “for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.” Romans 14:10b  Do you fear God?

Gary, may I inform you that this comment is the last one you will ever read from me pertaining to anything you have to say. By now I am sure that you are a person of your own world and your own god, that is if you believe in one.

It seem to me that you do not even read the scriptures which are used to present the discussion in the articles, unless you are so lacking in wisdom and understanding. You continue to criticize as if you are the maker of things and the rest of us are misusing them.

You talk about remaining in bondage, not realizing that you are the one who is stuck in the bondage of your carnal mind. Jesus said that the Truth will make you free. Truth comes by faith and freedom is your release from the control of your human senses into the control of your reformed mind of wisdom, understanding, and knowledge of God, who a Living person in Jesus Christ.

I would not have responded to you from the first time I read your comment but I was thinking of helping people who would like to open up their minds to God and His ways, but comments and the negative ideas of people like you, are putting them off. Sometimes God needs to silence the foe and the avenger. I would not mind if He is using me to do that job.

You have a negative response to everything about God and maybe Life itself, but by putting those response on display you confuse those who would like to know more and get themselves further into the positive side. You have no idea what you are debating against, but you continue to debate with boldness and even foolish pride. I am new here, but it did not take me long to notice your moves, especially that I am person who is well established in knowledge of God and Life in Love, filled with His Holy Spirit since September 1998.

I also need to let you know that if there is anyone passing judgement it is you. You keep accusing us of presenting ourselves through religious beliefs, but our relationship with God in Jesus Christ has nothing to do with religion. None of the articles your have commented against has presented the concept of religion and I speak that truth with boldness. Religion is a set of man-made rules accepted by people and churches who want to accept them. They are not guided by God’s Holy Spirit. You make a mistake, judging every book by its cover. It is an unfair mistake as well.

Still for all the regulations of religion is not God’s enemy, the enemy is people like you who are promoting confusion between God and those who desire to worship Him, demonstrating reverend fear to His Holiness. The stem of your debate against this article is one of the examples that demonstrate you are not on God’s side. Any person who has no fear of God is against Him. And as far as I am concerned if a person is against me he/she is my enemy.

I resent the fact that you so boldly use your lack of knowledge of God, and your stupid, false idea of religion, to discredit my relationship with Him, and I want you to get that right into your empty head. At least you will have something sensible there for the first time.

You refer to God as a thing and an it, saying that “you do not proclaim to know and have absolute truth”, but you are not qualified to have any knowledge and truth of God at all, for you do not know Him. You are consumed in your idea of religion, which, as I have already said do not teach people about God. And that is where the problems lies with you and those who are like you. You involve yourself, in the conversations of people who know God, based on your consummation of religion, hence your debate of ignorance and a different matter prevent us from reaching those who are willing to get to know God by the Power of His Holy Spirit at a faster space.

God is the Great Spirit of Love, the Living Person in the Body of Jesus Christ. The Body of God in Jesus, is what protects our sinful human nature from the wrath of His Holiness. That is what you do not understand Gary, because you do not see people falling dead like flies, after they commit their sinful acts. But this sort of thing happened lots of times before Jesus came and took the place our sinful nature.

While in the wilderness, many of the Israelites were struck dead because of the lack of reverend fear before God, who was present with them in the camps. Without Moses and Aaron, who was the High priest, to make quick intercession on behalf of those people much more of them would have died because of their sinfulness. It is the same with us today. We do not drop dead after we commit sins because the Love of God is full of mercy and compassion in Jesus Christ, protecting us from the wrath (anger) of His Holiness.

That is the reason you feel that no one needs to teach you about the Fear of God. You are doing whatever you feel like right now and you see yourself getting away with everything. You walk around with a mind that is carnal and proud and you are getting away with it. But what you are not aware of is that God is Holy and He wants people to live Holy lives before Him. He is not forcing anyone; and everyone is free to choose their lifestyles in regards to attitude and conducts. But be aware that a time of judgement is coming and God, in Jesus Christ, will be the judge. I am saying it again, God is Holy and He wants us to live Holy lives before Him. That Lifestyle demands that we fear Him.

King Solomon said: “I know that whatever God does, it shall be forever. Nothing can be added to it, and nothing can be taken from it. GOD DOES IT, THAT MEN SHOULD FEAR BEFORE HIM” Those who choose not to obey and to give reverend fear to God, WOE BE UNTO THEM!

    @elizabeth xavier:

Elizabeth, Why is it that you use your religious beliefs to bash people and make judgments, if they are not in accordance with yours. What makes you feel that I’m in great shambles with God? Is it because I do not prescribe or accept your religious beliefs and concepts.. The reason why the world is in shambles is because of religious fanaticism, people not being tolerant, wanting to make everyone follow and ascribe to their religious beliefs and customs and if they don’t, well they are doom. Why do you use your religious beliefs as a yard stick to judge people. One thing I always say I do not proclaim to know and have the absolute truth about the principle thing we called God, but I do know what God is not, and it is not something to be fearful of, and does not belong to any specific group of people who have a set religious beliefs either God has no religion. Finally I will say, the tendency to turn human judgments into divine commands makes religion one of the most dangerous forces in the world.

This comment is in reference to the comment of the person who is named Gary, against the above article.

Mankind is in a shamble throughout his effort to maintain a relationship with God because he does not know that God wants to build that relationship with him by faith. The writer of the book of Hebrews tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God. Why? Because faith brings Life, which is of God. This means that those who do not understand what faith is, or do not care about maintaining faith in God, has not yet begun to live true Life.

To walk about with feet, legs, arms, eyes, ears and nose, all attached to a physical frame of bones, flesh, and blood, is not evidence that we are alive. This means that many of us, human beings, are like a coffin moving about with a dead body, which is our soul. The soul is the Structure of Life, the Life that is the Light of men, in Jesus Christ. Our existence with a dead soul means that we are in the process of perish, as our human minds prepare us to return to the dust that we were formed from. But that is a choice we make on our own, through our disobedience and unfaithfulness to God, in Jesus Christ. God wants us to choose Life.

Faith is established in us when we make the choice to maintain a personal relationship with God. Through that relationship and by faith we conceive Love and so, we give birth to Life, which is Love, for God is Love, who gives us Life. When we are born of Love, we begin to develop through Wisdom. King Solomon tells us, in the Book of Proverbs, that Wisdom is the Tree (structure) of Life, she is the principal asset that keeps us living.

From Wisdom comes understanding and understanding brings Knowledge of God–the evidence of Eternal Life in us, With this evidence we are no longer walking-coffins carrying a dead soul. Eternal Life means that our soul has been awakened, quickened by the Light of God’s Holy Spirit, through faith in Jesus Christ. With evidence of Eternal Life in us, we demonstrate the willingness to practice Life in Spirit and Truth, as we are guided by God’s Holy Spirit.

That is the reason Jesus came to suffer and die for us. That by His humility and obedience to Eternal Spirit, God Almighty, He would receive the New Covenant on our behalf. It is a covenant by which God promised to teach us to know Him and to live according to His Ways as He teaches us to do so, by the power, guidance, rules and laws, of His Holy Spirit and through our faith in the suffering and death of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.

Through His prophet Jeremiah, God said: “I will put my law in their minds and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their God and they will be my people. No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man, his brother, saying: Know the Lord , for they all will know me, from the first to the last.” Jesus received this promise from the Father on our behalf and He poured it out to us on the Day of Pentecost.

As I have said before, by the Power of His Holy Spirit and because of the suffering and death of Jesus Christ, God is causing His people to receive Knowledge of Him and His Ways, the asset of Eternal Life in us. But we cannot receive that precious gift by trying to learn about it from another man, who is just like ourselves. That is the reason our churches are all turning into boring social facilities. Men and women enter the doors of those facilities as if they are entering a theatrical show, except that this show is a one-man show that leaves them with a mind as blank as an unprinted page..

People call themselves Christians but they maintain no other commitment with God, except to dress up for church meetings once or twice a week. Most people refuse to dismiss the notion that God and religion is the same thing. That is the reason there is no unity or harmony among us, as we try to be people of God with different names, man-made rules and laws.. Without the inclusions of faith, obedience, trust, humility and the power of His Holy Spirit we remain separated from God, just as we came into the world.

Hence people like Gary are in great shamble throughout their relationship with God. Unless these people are willing to go into quiet places and spend time alone with God, only His mercy and compassion can save them. But that is if God knows that those people are just simply ignorant. Many people do not know God and His ways, but instead of humbling themselves, they act as if they know everything and that attitude is stupid pride that will take them down to the darkest pit.

Pertaining to the subject of the above article that Gary so boldly disagree with, it is obvious that the writer did not concentrate on the idea of defining the difference between human or fleshly fear, and Godly or reverence fear. If we are going to teach topics about God, we need to present a well prepared document with simple illustration that lesser advanced people will understand. We need to remember that we are not putting things in people’s minds, but we are boosting those minds to keep them open as God Holy Spirit comes to do the important work. God wants those minds wide open

The text of the article above has many truths, but it seems more like those truths were simply taken from the Bible and into the text. Rephrasing and illustrations do not give enough evidence that the scripture was well received and understood, that it should be presented to others.

Again that conflict stems out from the fact that mankind is yet to realize that the Life of Spirit and Truth and the existence of flesh and blood is not the same, If Gary was aware of that fact, he would know that the writer of the article was teaching about Godly fear, which is different from human or fleshly fear, even if he did not explain with a clearer understanding.

Satan feeds us with fleshly fear, which is his weapon of death to our Spirit. That fear causes us to kill each other, commit suicide, to seek solace in drugs, alcohol, money, pornography, prostitution, and of course our gays and lesbian conducts, just mention a few of the human fears our spirit must fight against on a daily basis. The unfortunate thing is that most of us are unaware of the destructiveness we are facing, because Satan coats those issues with false lustre. The habits of gays and lesbian is one of those, for example.

Godly fear on the other hand is the attitude and conducts of Love, which we learn by the power of God’s Holy Spirit, as we thrive to live in His presence. This fear is known as reverend (holy and respectful) fear. God wants His people to live Holy lives. For example my level of reverend fear is so deep that I cannot type the pronouns referring God and Jesus with small letters.

If you look at the New King James Bible you will notice the same thing; while most of the other translations do not care to do that; just as they do not care about the language or wordings they use as they rewrite the Holy Bible.

The person with reverend or Godly fear lives with conducts and attitude that is pleasing to God. Those conducts and attitude give God delight, they demonstrate God’s Love for His Glory and they magnify His Holy name. Jesus expressed reverend fear of the Father when He chose to die on the cross that His Father, Almighty God, might receive the glory.

The person who does not have reverend fear, does not know Life, he/she does not know Love, and of course, he/she does not know God. But they can overcome this problem. The first effort is to open up the mind and get rid of that faithless and unbelieving key. If we open up the door for Jesus, He will come in to eat with us as we eat with Him. The food that we eat with Jesus as He eats with us is the Word of God, that gives us Eternal Life. All of this happens by the process of our faith in God.

It is very ludicrous and disturbing when people are told to fear God.What is all this about fear. Get a good dictionary and find the meaning of the word “fear” and tell me if that is what is needed to be be associated with God.. Fear is a very destructive and negative emotion,It can even get you sick.Think of all the things that “FEAR” has robbed us off and done. It is one of the things that has keep men in bondage and ignorance. Fear of the unknown can lead to obsessive, depressive thoughts which shadows all of life’s possible pleasures and comforts, being overwhelmed with fear can often have dire consequences and can lead to an internal incarceration of rational thought. Fear is a darkroom where negatives develop. It bewilders me when some people make themselves an authority on knowing God saying quote ‘Wisdom is acquired by fearing God” How can I acquire wisdom by being fearful of God, is it not by knowing and having a relationship with God that you get wisdom. I will tell you what I think To conquer fear is the beginning of wisdom.

Why should we be fearful of God. God is not something to be fearful about, it is something we should trust and get to know, by fearing God, it keeps us away from he truth, keeping us in darkness and ignorance What is needed is a relationship with God, not fear of God. Religion has always been based on fear, lies and deceit, It is time all these lies stop, dumbing people down, robbing people of their God given gift to think and not remain in bondage which is not God ordained. When people are kept in fear they’re all easy to control and manipulate with lies packaged as truth. Someone once said fear is, quote “False Evidence Appearing Real.”

Yes aye . Wish a lot more persons would read those inspiring words from the Richardsons. Yes continue the good works of bringing the word to all people every where. We need this injections into the veins of our young persons. We see a lot happenning to our young persons and it hurts my heart.

It is only his Love and mercies that has us where we are today. A lot of our young person ‘s life is snapped short. We need to bring out the message to them.
