ALIVE WORD: What type of seeds are you sowing?

The Richardsons

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”  Galatians 6:7

Whether we realize it or not in our daily actions and interactions we sow seeds that will at some point bring forth fruit.  God is not like man, He is just, righteous and very fair.  Unlike man, God cannot be fooled or deceived.  It is therefore very important that each of us daily keep in mind that or deeds and words will reap consequences of either good or bad, depending on the seeds that we sow.

Do not sow seeds of wickedness, injustice, hatred, jealousy, envy, discord and expect to reap love, blessings and favour.  “Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same”.  Job 4:8

In the book of Proverbs 6:16-19 it states “These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:  A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.”  Discord is strife, confusion, contention and it is not of God.  God is a God of love but He is also a God of judgment and sowing wickedness of any sort will bring a harvest of wickedness.

It is therefore very important for us to be led by the Holy Spirit at all times and in all things be careful what we say and do.  Trials are not always a result of sowing bad seeds but in some cases people reap all the bad deeds and actions they have done to others multiplied and it not only affects them but their children and grandchildren.

God is calling us to sow seeds of righteousness.  “Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.”  Hosea 10:12

Thank God for his mercies and His grace.  He causes the blessings to fall on the just and the unjust, but we should never ever take God for granted or trample on His mercies.  God is calling us to live holy lives and walk in the path of righteousness.

We must abide in Jesus Christ so that we will not only sow good seeds but bring forth good fruit.  “Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.”  St. Matthew 7:17  “And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.”  James 3:18

It is our prayer today that each of us search our hearts, repent where necessary and sow only seeds of righteousness, for in and out of the house of the Lord, EXPOSURE is near.

SINNER’S PRAYER
If you don’t know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and would like to accept Him today, please say the following prayer.

Dear God,
In the name of Jesus Christ, I acknowledge that I am a sinner and that I need a Savior. Forgive me of all my sins and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Your Word says in Romans 10:9 and 10 that if I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus Christ and believe in my heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, I shall be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. I now confess Jesus Christ as Lord of my life. In Jesus’ Name, amen.

With murder, other crimes, and the act immorality threatening to become rampant in Dominica, this is the kind of information that Dominicans need, to teach or encourage them to realize that God can make a great difference in the attitude and conducts of our people and for the pride of our country. For as we call for His mercy and compassion in a humble and contrite manner God is sure to deliver us.

This is the kind of information that gives us ideas of how to intercede in prayer and supplication on behalf of those who suffer from oppression that push them to cause further torment and torture in the lives of loved ones, and other people in their community. This is the kind of information that teaches us to know the need for repentance in our own lives But the question is where are the readers of this information?

All of us are on the other news reports of the murders, sexual molestations, the petty thefts, and the things of politics. We are there crying foul, asking questions that only we ourselves can answer. We are there passing our judgements, choosing to condemn others in what manner that pleases us. We are even calling for prayers, and of course, we are calling for the dead to rest in peace, and wishing for the blessings of victims who survive. But what will all this do to change things around for those of who are still fighting for survival?

We talk all those things, but we do not seek to walk our talk. For where the guidelines or the pathways of walking our talk are, we are not there. We seem to be searching for or walking elsewhere, the place or places that leads us further into darkness, and our state of blindness and lost. LORD GOD, IN JESUS CHRIST, HAVE PITY FOR US, who are too proud, disobedient, and rebellious against Your commands and You great Love for us.
