I know a few people reading this will get offended and feel bad, but the truth hurts.
However, those who feel hurt know very well that nothing in life is free. I am actually talking about men and women who specifically accept jobs and promotions for sexual favours.
Before I go any further, I want to make it abundantly clear that I am not and will not be condemning anyone, because what happens between two people is their business, once they are comfortable and it is within the confines of “their law”. My main reason for bringing this topic, is the way people perform on the job or in their new position after giving these “favours”.
Since I have been in the working world, office rumours about the secretary screwing the boss or the star employee screwing the boss’s wife have always been rife.
These rumours may just be false and circulated out of jealousy, but there is no smoke without fire, and I have no doubt that these things occur.
I recalled after working at a company for less than six months I got promoted. I was fresh out of high school and my bosses, a male and female, loved me and thought I was very talented and industrious. Of course, this created instant hatred among my peers, especially those who’ve been there many years, and thought that I stole their opportunity. Did I promote myself? Yes I did. I worked hard and honestly, and got on well with the bosses.
I was fortunate to not have heard any rumours that my bosses screwed me because both ran the department almost equally and they are male and female – unless my co-workers would imply that I had a threesome.
But I do recall one of my co-workers, a young lady, about 25 at the time, who was the office’s eye candy. As a secretary, she was single, hot in every way, had the looks to turn cars up-side-down, but uniquely, she drove a Mercedes, and always wore the latest clothes and changes hairstyles almost every day. She always boasts about taking weekly trips to fancy resorts and island-hopping.
As a secretary, there is no way she could have afforded that unless she had a sugar daddy or she came from a wealthy family. The latter we could verify because her family is from a ghetto community. However, of course, it was no surprise to hear that she was screwing the company chairman. And what do you think was the reason for the rumour? They saw him dropping her off at work one morning. Yes, just ONE morning. But the young lady does not seem to care about the hatred, which mainly came from other members of staff. She shows off even more.
Now, I am much older and I have close business associates, therefore I hear all the workplace stories. And most of them involve secretaries who are always very close to the boss and work hours into the night with their superior. One of the common complaints is about the girl who gets promoted and fails to perform. And not any ordinary girl – a girl who looks so good that she eventually worked her way up his willy and at the top of the corporate ladder, only to disappoint and cost the money profits.
I had one friend – a general manager – who lost his job because he promoted his secretary who only possessed a high school diploma. She failed miserably as a supervisor, causing the highest staff turnover in the company’s history and a few big-name customers. Eventually, the news got to the board, and he was questioned harshly about his decision to bypass more qualified staff and promote a high school graduate, who got more butt than brains. He was fired, and so too was the secretary who climbed his willy into the highlands of the corporate world.
Now she is going around spreading rumours on him, saying he fired her because she refused to have sex with him. What was more painful is that he had to be the one who signed and issued the termination letter. She did not believe him even when he went on his knees to tell her that the decision was a board one. She told him he probably wanted to screw the new girl who filled her secretarial position after she got promoted.
Shortly after, my friend got the boot. He is now employed in a bigger position but he has sure learned his lessons: do not sex your staff in exchange for promotion UNLESS she is qualified.
And that is my reason for writing this column today.
Ladies, if you want to give up that awesome body to reach where you are, ensure that your brain is functioning and you have the credentials to back it up. Also ensure you give your pie to a boss who actually owns or has a say in the company, otherwise it is a greater risk.
This is why rumours like these get stink because there is no way in hell someone with less qualifications and little or no experience can fill a top position without some pull string or pull balls.
In my case, back in the days, I was a top performer – long before I was promoted. So even though it came as a surprise that I was promoted within such a short time of joining the company, they were surprised at my work performance and qualifications, therefore there were no rumours that anyone screwed me or I screwed someone. They were just bitter that they were not chosen after being there for many years before my arrival.
A lot of supervisors and managers are working in companies and have no clue what they are doing because they got in the position because they rimmed, sucked a banana or rode the jolly. These kind of sexual promotions are bad for companies.
Nothing is wrong if a boss sleeps with a woman who owns a degree, who is smart, thinks quickly, brings in the money for the company, and gets on well with the staff. When she is promoted, no one will ever think twice.
However, you have some @#$%& who are wack, make silly decisions and treat staff like trash, knowing well it was the penis “who” promoted them.
What about the men who flashed the bum bum? Many of them walk the corporate ladders and political arenas. I have nothing against gay people but if you take a double check, gay people are some of the most successful people and they hold top management positions, and own strong networks. They move up faster than anyone else. Enough said!

To mouth of the south: Thank you for the information; I did not remember where the incident had taken place, unless there was a familiar incident in New York. But if we are talking about the same person, I am glad to hear that they gave her back her employment position.
But if I indeed that is the same person, If I were in her place, I would not feel comfortable to accept that reemployment offer. I would feel uncomfortable to work in that environment.

@pnuts that is so true cuz i had an experience at my work place where my boss was sexually harrassing me and i had to stand up to him.Later on he started putting some pressure on me and cause me to loose my job, i kindly take it to the lord in prayer and god fight my battles for me. It did not take long after the company got sold out and he was the first one on the list to get fired.And to my suprise he met me while i was out shopping and apologise to me with tears in his eyes.So every one has a right to decide their own destiny.

Nice Guy, U left out all the male bosses that pressure women into having sex with them or else the women will loose their jobs. There are lots of male pigs in the work place using their positions to squeeze females they consider their competition, or just because the women are hard working.
PS. Do not hate, as long as the women are not beeing forced into it, let the bosses promote them, let the bosses pass like dummies for promoting the puss rather than the brain.
Perhaps this is still happening in the work-force of Dominica and other places, but in some other places of the world, woman with those sexy or attractive looks are now getting fired from their jobs instead of getting promotions. I do not know about the men.
A few months ago I read an article on a world-wide news blog called Digital Journal. The article talked about a woman who worked at a bank. The article showed pictures of the lady. The different photos showed her nicely dressed. Blouses, skirts, pants, and dresses, that covered her body modestly, with a perfect fit–not too loose and not too tight. Neither her skirts, nor her dresses were above her knees; but she has an excellent figure with the most beautiful face of a human being.
The men who worked at that bank complained that she was too sexy, too attractive, and she distracted them from focusing on their work. The management of the bank fired her because of that. The news article said that she was suing the bank and its management for wrongful dismissal.
Later on I read that about that same news article as research concluded that management of a business has the right to fire a person like that lady. Can you believe that!
Oh yes, I’m pretty convinced u got the promotion after being there for 6 months over ppl who’d been there for many many years, cause back in the days u were such a “top performer” and a very “nice” guy, Mr Nice Guy.
Of course, “these days”, u’re not such a top performer but still a “nice” guy, that’s why u hold top management positions and own such strong networks.

I have to agree with you nice guy, too many promotions occur because of sexual favors and then we end up with a society that cannot sustain itself because we have a set of airheads in positions of authority. It needs to stop.

hmm.. well I cannot disagree with this article today because many people get their jobs and positions just because they performed sexually. the sex with me (secretary) will come to work with the tightest and most reveling outfits just so they can arouse the manager to gain a higher position. I believe hard work and dedication will get u ahead in life.
