STAY WELL & SPARKLE  – They Spoil Her!

Go away evil“Shoo!” she swung the broom at the blackbird trying to fly into her house. Next morning she found it dead under her bed. Soon after, this restaurant owner started feeling prickly pains in her leg. A previously healthy, good-looking mother, it wasn’t long before she could no longer walk.

This story is as told by a family member. (Measures have been taken to secure patient confidentiality). I was spellbound! Yet, it is the kind of scenario oft repeated in our land. No doubt, your may have a compelling story to match.

Now, here’s what we’re going to do. Come November, we observe a very important medical condition. Since we are likely to be pre-occupied with Independence and possibly elections, this article and the one next week will lay the foundation to blast our public awareness campaign to the next level. Stay with me on this one. God willing, you will get the take home message. The good news is that protection is not in some murky liquid in a quaint bottle – or even in a modern spray can – but in something that you can easily do this week!

Dacor?

Did I mention that this story is of a Dominican residing in a neighbouring French island? Anyway, days before that incident, she had noticed blackbirds falling dead in the corners of her yard. At this point, she became convinced that something evil was afoot. She sought out the services of a lady known to be a native healer or ‘garday zaffeh.’

She was told that the same person who did that to her would give her the necessary cure. And this is the way it would happen: A man would come into her restaurant three days in a row and not buy anything. On the third day he would ask her about her leg. She was to do exactly as he instructed.

It was as if a scent of sulpher overwhelmed the aromas from kitchen the moment that man entered the restaurant. She immediately recognized him as the same one who some time before had tried to ‘make a break’ behind her. She had spurned his advances and thought nothing more of it. All she could remember is that though he seemed right-handed, he paid and took his change awkwardly with his left hand.

So said, so done!

Sure enough, on his third coming, he demanded in creole, “How’s de leg?” She was speechless! “If you doh do nothin’ about your leg, you will die.” He added coldly.

“Well, if I die, just throw me in the sea!” She replied defiantly.

Ou paka mort pierce. Let me write down things you have to buy at the drug store.” She did. She got better. She could walk again.

Through it all, she never took him on. Fast forward eight years. The small toe on that same leg started hurting. She didn’t go to the doctor. Instead she used the same poultice and potions from the last time. Later, she was found in bed, feverish and delirious. She was admitted and treated with insulin for high blood sugar. Gangrene had set in. The toe had to be amputated. After the operation, the leg did not heal. They had to cut higher – a below knee amputation. She was discharged home with a hospital bed, wheelchair and physiotherapy.

She bounced back well when she got her artificial leg. Unfortunately, two years later, they had to take the other foot. This time she lost it: her joie-de-vivre. She required total care, having to be bathed, dressed and needed help feeding. For a self-made survivor whose customers raved about her cooking, she could no longer countenance such bland meals.

Two months later, she was no more.

Real Protection

In the back of your mind, you must be saying, ‘I’ve seen this movie before. The strange leg pains for no good reason, the amputation, the depression and decline.’ Some see the world through rose-coloured glasses; others see a jombi behind every bush – enemies hell-bent on destroying them. But is it possible there be some other reason, in part or in whole?

I know you would join me in extending heartfelt sympathies to the family. But it was not enough to be just to be intrigued by the story. We have to do something about it. You see, my two legs have taken me to some interesting places and I hope I have many more miles to go. So, to keep them, every year I do a HbA1C blood test (along with my PSA and cholesterol).

I sure hope you clicked on the green link above. A better explanation could not be found! I suddenly started feeling hungry and had no idea why. For frequent readers of my articles, I can see that ‘Aha!’ look spreading across on your faces. New readers at home and abroad, are welcome to join us by simply asking your nurse or doctor for a slip for HgbA1C.

Get it done; this week. Please. Next week’s article will tie everything together, step by step. It promises you protection more powerful than any proffered by that garday zaffeh. Mark my words. No one can spoil you unless you let them. You need that hedge of protection which puts YOU in control; not those mysterious people who sometimes slip in and out of our lives.

Shall we meet again and compare notes?

An excellent article from Dr. Christian.

Knowledge is power. The doctor is doing a great favor to the people of the Caribbean by sharing such knowledge from the area of his expertise.

This lady should have gone to a doctor when the problem showed up the second time and not relied on natural remedies prescribed by a lay person. It looks to me as if there may have been more than one thing troubling her. I am not a medical person but I would have been suspicious of diabetes.

I am writing as an evangelist with a deliverance ministry. This is not intended to take the place of medical advice or care from a health care professional.

At this point it seems Dr. Christian has not put a scientific name on whatever disease overcame this lady. I am waiting for his next installment and more light. Even if it was a natural medical condition there may have been a first cause namely a demonic attack. It may have been a curse directed at her by an enemy using obeah or some other form of witchcraft.

I agree with the doctor when he says nobody can spoil us unless we let them :!: And there is certainly a hedge of protection for those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and accept the merits of His precious blood to keep them safe :!:

    I encourage you to read:

    Acts 10:36 with Hebrews 13:8, Romans 8:16,17, Mark 16:17, John 10:10, John 14:13,14, 1 John 4:4, Revelation 12:11.

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. International Evangelist.

The problem with people is that they do not know how faith in God works and so they quickly accept the wisdom and philosophy of fellow human beings like themselves.

It is a fact, that when God comes into our lives, the first thing He will do is to discipline and train our minds, to remove it from its carnal condition–the means by which this mind ours enters it renewal process.

One of God’s frequent test of faith, that we will go through, is sickness in the body; as God allows Satan a time in our lives–note sickness is a curse in us from God, because of what our first parents did in the Garden of Eden.

The apostle Paul describes sickness as “a thorn in the flesh; the messenger of Satan, when he himself was sick, his sickness was the way by which God needed to cause him to stay humble, read 2nd Corinthians 12.

What we need to learn to do, as soon as a sickness enters our body, is to start thinking “healing”–the mind in its renewing process will quickly accept that “seed” or “thought”–otherwise we are on our way to our final demise depending on the force of that sickness.

Through positive thinking, healing might come by faith alone or faith in the medium that God will use to do His work of healing in us. That medium most also believe that God is working through him or her–to give Him the glory, that is our duty as human beings–but how often do these principle join in harmony, for they have to be so?

It is no wonder why so many people die from their sickness. With God and faith in His authority and power we can do nothing and so we will have nothing.

When Paul prayed to God, that he might be relieved from his sickness, he told us that Jesus said to him: “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in your weakness”. 2nd Corinthians 12: 9

    where they selling the spray?/

    • September 24, 2014

This spray could probably be purchased in a “religious” store where they cater to superstitions  by selling “holy” pictures, candles, incense, and images, etc.

You do not need a can of spray. You need Christ :!:

When you believe in HIM according to 1

      • September 24, 2014

        Continuation …

When you believe in HIM according to 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, and Romans 1:16, His shed blood washes your sins away as the Bible says in 1 John 1:7. You become a “new creature”. Old things pass away and all things become new as God promises in 2 Corinthians 5:17.

This can of spray is like the horseshoe people put up over a door or the four leaf clover people carry in their purse. The only power it has is the power they attribute to it.

You cannot spray the devil away. Even if you get rid of your affliction you will still die in your sins and to to hell unless you trust the Lord Jesus Christ and His precious blood to put your sins away.

Doc, I agree with about the video.

I find you website very interesting for more information. now I know how contact you if I have a medical question

  11. September 21, 2014

My cousin and I have looked back and spoke of all the crazy things our island people used to say, especially when someone had a saw that would not heal. They would accuse the neighbors for doing some witchcraft to them, and all along they had diabetes, or cancer or some other sicknesses. Good topic doctor Sam. I am looking forward to your take on it. Thanks

Do u know that there are bad and evil. There are wicked people who do not u to prosper and would go to the end of the world to do obiah on u

We agree that there is good and evil. But remember that GOD is more powerful than satan and all his evil angels. When he was cast out of heaven he got 1/3 of the angels to follow him so this leaves 2/3 in heaven under the leadership of our Savior. So figure it out it will always be 2 to 1 in favor of those who allow the Almighty to be their leader. Take some time and read the story of Job in the old testament and this will prove to yiu that although there is good and evil in tve end GOOD will always triumph over evil in the end.

Doc this an excellent article. For an island with a 99% literacy rate too many still hold on to old superstitions. If a bush can cure one of an ailment we must submit it to the modern process of the scientific method and isolate the useful property. Then we can have that product submit to rigorous tests to ensure it works. This lazy business of garday zaffeh and all bush tea good because it is “natural” will let us down. Poison ivey is natural too. Good article on the need to test for sugar and so avoid diabetes. Thank you doc.
