On behalf of the Government and people of Dominica, I express deepest condolences on the passing of former Minister of Government, Mr. Julius Timothy.
Mr. Timothy served our nation with distinction and commitment during his many years in public life. As a parliamentarian and cabinet minister, he was dedicated to national development and to improving the lives of the Dominican people. He held several ministerial portfolios, including Finance, Health and Urban Renewal, and served as Dominica’s Non-Resident Ambassador to Mexico. His contribution to business and public service will be remembered with gratitude.
I was privileged to work alongside Mr. Timothy in Cabinet between 2006-2014 and witnessed firsthand his dedication to national progress and his deep concern for the welfare of our people.
I extend heartfelt sympathies to his family, friends and all who mourn his loss. May his life of service inspire us all, and may his soul rest in eternal peace.
But the idea!!!
When people paying Homage to a respectable Comrade is not the one getting the accolades nuh Photo dat is presented wiff the Statement!!!
Because the one getting the accolades is the subject of discussion not the one giving it!!!

Glad to see the P.M. setting a conciliatory tone with his message of condolences to the family of the former Dominica Public Servant and Finance Minister.
Whether we want to admit it or not, villifying the ruling party has always been a caustic staple of politics in general and Dominican politics in particular.
The opposition party has traditionally castigated and accused the incumbents of being outlaws, crooks, thieves and countless other crimes including robbing the national treasury, hijacking parliament and the country.
Hopefully we will coalesce as a nation moving forward while agreeing to disagree and accepting the reality that in a nation as small as ours, no one individual or political party has a monopoly on prudent ideas and solutions.
