Ms. Joanne Commodore, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of National Security and Legal Affairs provided a brief overview of the activity. Listen below:

I am hoping and praying that when Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit finally retires from politics that a new library, The Roosevelt Skerrit Library, is built in Roseau for all the good work that he has done for the Dominican people.
Why don’t you name all the good things that man has done, chief propagandist? I wouldn’t class stealing from one’s country or manipulating elections, to name but a few, as GOOD. Having said that, your standards are those of a herd of swine.
These meetings are indeed desirable valuable and commendable. But unfortunately, security co-operation continues to be defined by a seemingly perpetual over-dependency on the french departments helicopter and fixed wing aircraft for search and rescue efforts when persons are lost at sea or even in Dominica’s own ultra- rugged terrain. When will the government of Dominica upgrade our security resource to include at least one helicopter with trained personnel ( pilots, technicians etc) to effectually compliment and augment our marine and terrestrial security units? How long again into our future as an independent nation will the french continue to be our only hope and salvation in this respect?
Patience my friend nothing happens before the time is right. Hopefully with the New International Airport’s compilation. A well deserve hanger can be constructed for this
much needed helicopter and or a small fixed wing aircraft for our (Dominican Citizens) when it’s needed for emergency rescues. I hope that would be a priority on the Government’s radar for the improvement and self sufficiency for the future of Dominica.
While it’s a good idea to dialogue with our neighbors as it was before, I wonder if there a persons from the immigration, drug squard & coast guard ( marine) because apart from the senior officers attending ( and at their homes when missions are going on). These personnel should be their to listen and bring their ideas to the french authorities so the security of our borders will be better protected.
