Dominica has been named a must-visit island in 2024 by the US-based website localpov.com which provides travel and lifestyle tips to its viewers and readers.

Readers were told to put the island on their shortlist to visit this year.

“Winter weather is battering much of the United States,” an article about the island said.

“As many locales struggle to deal with sub-zero temperatures, avid travelers are already dreaming of trips to distant islands where sunshine and beaches await. For those taking the time to plan out summer beach trips, Dominica should be one location that remains on your shortlist this year.

It stated that Dominica is an island that has something for everyone.

“There are rainforests to explore, hot springs to relax in, and waterfalls for all the “social media influencers.” And of course, this destination has the beaches to fulfill all your desires. Travel and Leisure has awarded Dominica the best island in the Caribbean multiple years and anyone who visits the island immediately understands why,” it said.

It added, “Dominica has been called “Nature Island” simply because of the serene outdoor attractions that surround every area. The local communities within the island mix perfectly with the nature surrounding them. Throughout the year several festivals represent the cultures in that area, including parades, parties, excellent food, and more.”

The article mentioned the many activities on Dominica that await the traveler.

“Nature lovers will have plenty to do as well with several miles of challenging hikes that will take you throughout the island’s countryside,” it pointed out.

“Beating the heat is easy when you go to Emerald Pool which is a waterfall surrounded by rainforest. Don’t forget about the beaches where you can enjoy boating, swimming, and lounging in the sand if that’s your thing.”

It also spoke about the many places to stay and where to get good food.

“Secret Bay is another site for those looking for a peaceful time away, as is the Pagua Bay House,” the article said.

“Looking for good food? Then, make it a point to visit Keepin’ it Real and Old Stone Grill and Bar. These locations capture the flavorful dishes of local communities in such a way that will leave you talking long after you leave.”

It urged travelers to make sure Dominica is on their list of places to visit in 2024.

“As you plan out your travel itinerary for 2024, do not leave Dominica off your list as this is a beautiful island that you must visit,” it said.

The article was first published on localpov’s website on January 23, 2024, and later republished on the website of media giant MSN, giving it the potential to reach millions of readers.

Hello and good morning my people. Well it’s a beautiful picture but what I see is fresh water being wasted. The river is just emptying out into the sea without being used to produce electricity. Why can’t they build a dam and used the water to turn four turbines which would produce enough electricity to power all the homes in the north and east of the country . We can also collect , purify and sell the water.
