We are also happy to see Swimming represented at the CAC Games for the first time since I became President and would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the respective Associations on the work they are putting in to develop the sport at the local level. I take this opportunity to wish all the athletes and officials a successful and enjoyable 2023 CAC Games.”
I wait with bated breath.
I am rather disappointed that track and field is not given the sort of publicity that is obtained in other CARICOM jurisdictions. This sport through Usain Bolt ShellyAnn Fraser, Elaine Thompson Herah and myriad other athletes has Jamaica’s name flying high worldwide. Sadly in Dominica, the sport is a best kept secret. Does the DOC even have a PRO?? This is shameful, and it does not auger well to harness a fan base. Even on a Thursday night on Sports Rap, i do not hear anything about track and field, and that’s lamentable. Some people are being paid for laziness, and they should answer to the public. I know more about track and field in other CARICOM countries esoecially Jamaica than i know about in Dominica!!
What about the synthetic track. Do i have to ask about the progress, or you all should be informing the public?
What about a ONE hour slot per week on radio to talk only Track And Field!!
OMG!!!…Well hire me nah!!!
Boxing and track and field ok, at a pinch but swimming? Forgive my ignorance but where are the training facilities? As far as I know Dominica does not have an Olympic size pool we can train and organise competitions. I hope it is not just a family junket. I stand to be corrected of course.
I want to wish the local athletes who are representing Dominica the very best. Hoe they will return with some hardware.
DNO every time I see a photo or drawing of the national birds I am reminded of the habitual Liar who occupied the Office of the Prime Minister. At his next press conference, someone ought to ask the Liar about these treasured birds.
Bring back the parrots Roosevelt.
