Dominica and the southeastern Asia country of Vietnam have signed an agreement that gives visa exemptions for holders of diplomatic and official passports from both countries. The agreement was inked by Dominica’s Minister for Planning, Economic Development, Climate Resilience, Sustainable Development, and Renewable Energy, Vince Henderson, and Vietnamese Foreign Minister, Bui Thanh Son last Friday, September 22 on the sidelines of the ongoing 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

Henderson is part of Dominica’s delegation to the UNGA.

At a working session before the signing, the two men discussed and agreed upon measures to bolster the friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

According to the Vietnam Government News, they both agreed on a “need to promote negotiations on double taxation avoidance agreement and other cooperation deals in science, technology, education, and agriculture, thus making active contributions to fostering the bilateral ties.”

For his part, Henderson said there is great importance in Dominica’s relationship with Vietnam and he expects it to grow robustly, pointing out that the visa exemption agreement is a crucial step towards bilateral relations.

The two also pledged to foster collaboration between Vietnam and CARICOM countries and between Dominica and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) member states.

Dominica established diplomatic relations with Vietnam in 2013.

The purpose of a nation establishing diplomatic relations with another is to strengthen the state, nation, or organization it serves in relation to others by advancing the interests in its charge. Diplomatic activity aims to maximize a group’s advantages without the risk and expense of using force and preferably without causing resentment. Diplomacy plays an important part in shaping what happens in international relations, providing a way for one state’s political interests to interface.

If you ask Roosevelt and Henderson what Dominica have in common with Viet Nam
Their mouth would not even be able to open.

If they are hoping to get some sort of financial or free money from Vietnam, that wont happen:
The population is 96.21 million, of that amount; 11% of Vietnam’s 90-million population is still living below the national poverty line of 400,000 Vietnamese dong; about US$20 per month in rural areas.
So, that means their poor are poorer than Dominica’s poor!

If only they would get those exemptions from places that Dominicas ACTUALLY want to go to so we can get jobs or visit family, or places we more familiar with. I’m all about broadening your horizons but how many Dominicans about to jump on a plane to look for work in Vietnam where they speak Vietnamese? Maybe if we could get those exemptions from some European countries, Canada, no? Those visa exemptions is just to make our passport more attractive to purchasers.

…but who wants to go to Vietnam now? I mean apart from Skerrit. No doubt Mister would love to go there and study in detail the evil deeds of the Khmer Rouge.

I’m not big on Vietnam but those European countries and Canada have terrible track record using our people as cheap labor. Ya, you got a job – good for you.

This agreement holds nothing for the people of Dominica but for the government officials and theirs associates who they give diplomatic passports at will. I always thought governments work on the behalf of the people and I also thought Vince was an intelligent man. This agreement should be torn or used as bathroom tissue.

But how will that help Skerrit sell our passports to known wanted criminals nou? His clients don’t want to go to Vietnam. They want to use our passport to go to the US, Uk and the EU. Oh maybe Skerrit wants to bring in Vietnamese to Dominica so they could attend the disguised Ross University

So, what is so extra special about that; what are the benefits; what shall Dominicans benefits from that?
So, Vince with all your big mouth while you were here; I told you were temporary; when were talking about we not suppose to interfere with diplomas, I told you we we would be here while you are gone!
“Diplomats and other foreign government officials traveling to the United States to engage solely in official duties or activities on behalf of their national government must obtain A-1 or A-2 visas prior to entering the United States. They cannot travel using visitor visas or under the Visa Waiver Program. With the exception of a Head of State or Government — who qualifies for an A visa regardless of the purpose of travel — your position within your country’s government and your purpose of travel determine whether you need an A-1 or A-2 visa.
Even Roosevelt need a Visa to come to America; that sucker; and that means they can refuse a corrupted crook entry visa anytime!

“Dominica and the southeastern Asia country of Vietnam have signed an agreement that gives visa exemptions for holders of diplomatic and official passports from both countries.”
And who exactly are those holders of diplomatic and official passports from Dominica? They are people like the Honourable minister and his ilk, cabalists involved in the selling of passports, and their wives and their concubines. When one factors in the Rogues’ Gallery of international “Ambassadors” and representatives with diplomatic passports, one get a full picture that this agreement is just another ploy to open doors for them and begs the question, is Vietnam is the new frontier for passport selling?

“And who exactly are those holders of diplomatic and official passports from Dominica?”

The corrupted crooks, and thieves who sells Dominica passports, and steals the greater amount of the proceeds!
” Henderson said there is great importance in Dominica’s relationship with Vietnam and he expects it to grow robustly, pointing out that the visa exemption agreement is a crucial step towards bilateral relations.

Indeed because misery likes company, dirt poor has nothing to offer Vietnam, they grow basically the same agricultural products as grown in Grand Bay as for salary comparisons:

For mid-career and experienced professionals (>2 year experience):

      Information technology: 9.5 – 20 million VND ($422 – $889 USD)
      Finance: 7.2 – 15.75 million VND ($320 – $700 USD)
      Construction: 10 – 15 million VND ($444 – $667 USD)
      Marketing: 8 – 15 million VND ($356 – $667 USD)

That is only another way to set up a sweat shop to sell passports in Vietnam!

@Juanita, it would be better news for you if Vietnam had broken diplomatic ties with Dominica, you would be on cloud nine. People like you are stuck in a time warp with money and diplomatic passports swimming in your brain.
