Dominica’s up and coming Donsome Recording Artist, Aima Moses, will hit the big stage in Orlando, Florida, at the annual Reggae Roadblock on Saturday 17, 2013.
The Orlando Reggae Roadblock, as it is called, is a celebration of life, art, and culture expressed through reggae music and one love gatherings.
The event is described on the Orlando Reggae Road Block face book page as “a super spectacular festival of some of the richest talent to bless the state of Florida.”
The date in itself is a special day which signifies the birthday of Marcus Mosiah Garvey and is expected to be a real conscious party.
The event will showcase various artists with the likes of Ras Klamps (Joseph Hill & Culture, Burning Spear, Third World, Rita Marley), Trent Spears (Wailers, Burning Spear, Pato Banton) and top area legends 506 Crew (backing band for the likes of Glen Washington, Mikey Spice) along with nationally touring reggae acts resident to the state, from the panhandle to the south beaches.
According to a press release, this event will heighten Moses’ popularity.
“No doubt a nod to Moses’ increasing popularity, this appearance, which follows on the heels of a concert with internationally popular Jamaican reggae singer Khago on Dominica, translates into him being well on his way to not just opening for heavyweights like Sizzla and Lutan Fyah, but to becoming a bonafide drawing headliner in his own right,” it said.
The release also urged all Dominicans to show their support and to bring along canned foods for donation purposes.
“As such, all Dominican nationals are encouraged to spread the word and those local and within driving distance of central Florida are asked to come out and show their support in person. A can food benefit drive is also being held at event, and attendees are reminded to walk with their donations”.
The theme for the festival is “In Unity There Is Strength”.
It is expected to begin at 2 pm.
