Brandon King, a Dominican who resides in Jersey City has taken a major step in pursuing a musical career by releasing his first official music video.
Currently a college student majoring in computer science, King is originally from Marigot and has been pursuing a music career for 5 years while developing his skills in the production of music and videography.
He said his musical journey began while in high school where he surrounded himself with persons who shared similar interests.

“My musical journey started when entering high school (North East comprehensive School) in 2009. There I met with Irv ‘Oozy’ Antoine who was also an upcoming artist, vocal engineer and mixer from Marigot.
He invited me and two other friends of mine to join his music group which was called FGP.
We agreed but my friends and I wanted to remain under our group name Tappakynz, so we became a subgroup FGP. The members were all from my home village: Marigot.”
King added that in order to take his career further he invested in recording equipment and software needed to make music.
He went on to give some advice to all the young people who would like to pursue a musical career.
“For persons starting out first study your craft and love it. Find and work with people who have the same goals as you. Don’t be discouraged by lack of success, praise and results that you get from your product. Evaluating your target market for your music is necessary… treat it as a business and invest in it.”

He added that as an artist he would like to grow his fan base and is planning to start up his own video production business in the near future.
King recently released his first official music video called “Time” featuring Oozy which was recorded by MussBuss production studio owned by Irv Antoine.
