Dominican David Michael recently appointed as a policing consultant was also awarded an MBE on Sunday (which stands for Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) for his service as a police officer in the Lewisham area in London.
Michael was the first officer of Afro-Caribbean heritage in the Lewisham police force in modern history. Michael was one of only 11 black officers in a police force of over 22,000.
Michael had a very successful and productive career attaining the rank of police inspector at Scotland yard after a 30 year career.
He said, “I am pleased and proud to receive this special Honour. I am grateful to those who made the time to nominate me and considered me worthy of consideration. I am also grateful to those who made the ultimate decision to approve me for the award.”
Have just read about your award in the September edition of the LPP and would like to offer congratulations on behalf of the Steane family. We will always remember your kindness and support when you worked with John at Lewisham and I know he would be very happy for you .
Well done.
With de leadership we have in cabinet you are overly accomplished Sir…. Skerrit would never employ a brilliant and honorably acclaimed individual like you to be commissioner of police on Dominica.
Not even our national security minister can attempt to walk in your shoes.
Big up to you
Honors to you
Your impeccable career buries all billionaire seeking prime Minister whose salary can NEVER make him a millionaire.
Well done sir!
In Dominica our officers, (most),serve one man, and not the country!
Shame on them, and shame on those who head our police force.
My friend, thank you for your service. Serving in the police force at a time that you did could not have been an easy road. Hats off to you. Please continue to make yourself, family and country proud.
David Michael, congratulations on the MBE. Well deserved! Indeed, you are a shining example of the intelligence and value of our people. Your excellence in the police service of the UK has brought a gloss on our image as a people. You have always sought to project the best of Dominica and have sought to help Dominica at every opportunity – especially in policing. Sad that our current government has not seen fit to use your leadership to reform/ improve our current police service. But again, the Bible teaches us that prophets are never welcomed in their own country. May God always bless and keep you. Your old headmistress Floss Christian is proud of you Sir as we all are. Take good care !
Congratulations David. Good job
Well done David. Congratulations ,keep it up
