Dominican left for dead in Antigua still fears for his life

Photo shows a partly recovered Azoo

One month after he was severely beaten and left for dead, Jahhym Azoo says he is afraid of walking the streets in Antigua and Barbuda.

Azoo who is Dominican is recovering at home but he tells Dominicanewsonline that he is afraid that those who attacked him would do it again.

He said he is aware that only two boys were charged and they have been released and are at large.

Azoo said he would rather return to his homeland where he will be more at peace.

Meantime his family has set up a go fund me page to assist in his medical bills which now stands at a whopping $70 thousand dollars.

When Azoo was admitted to the Mount St Johns Medical Center in St Johns he had severe bleeding to his brain coupled with a broken nose and jaw. The entire bottom row of his teeth was also knocked out.

Doctors had given him a fifty percent chance of survival.

Police insists that two young boys did the atrocious act but the victim maintains it was five.

Jahym come back home my boy. Antiguans for antiguans &perhaps they even blaming you because you are a stranger. Mama send Jahym back to his peaceful village home. Prevention is better than cure. Vengeance is mine saith the Lord. Do not fight mama in your own strength. I am sure you do not want to lose Jahym/ He is frightened as this was a terrible experience .. days in Antigua & he was bullied & beaten. Antigua or ?? parents of those who committed this act, please speak to your boys seriously. If you do not tell them what they did was wrong, they will continue especially if they are not punished. So do the best thing, scold them. Spare the rod & spoil the charge. If you are certain that your son (s) was involved take them to the police station & I am sure they will never do such again. Police Officers do not brutalise when Mom takes them but counsel them as Fathers. When punished indicate to them why they are punished. They make feel convicted & ask for forgiveness

Sue them. Take them to court and sue them dry. Then take money and come home. Start a little business and build your big house. And finish with them.

I would advice him to leave where he is now and return back to his country or else they can trace him again and might eventually kill him. Thats soo sad :(

    Dangerous animals should be caged.

  7. October 6, 2019

If these animals are not punished, then it is going to embolden them to commit bigger and more serious crimes. I hope Karma is very close around the corner for these perpetrators.

I thank God that the young man pulled through first and foremost. It is by the Grace of God that he did. I pray that the family will see a way out financially. If such an act had taken place in DA, I wonder who would be blamed. These young people all over the world are lethal, terrible, and have no compassion. I wish him and his family the best of luck

Why Dominican and the authority in Dominica condemning what happened to this young man?
They should help the family at least have a fun raising for him….
    Shame on my people

    Return home.

It may be a vast difference from Antigua but home is home.

I don’t know who you are, but no one deserves to be mugged and beaten in that capacity. Sorry to hear of your plight. Stay indoors for your safety. Don’t go anywhere alone. Upon recovery go home, if possible. Go back only for court purposes. Hope you make full recovery.

The parents of those 5 boys should contribute to that 70,000

Well, you’re not an idiot ( LOL). Your comment makes sense. When caught, the thugs’ parents should contribute to the 70K. So sick and tired of undisciplined thugs running the streets, causing problems.

The criminals who perpetrated this most vicious attack on Jahhym need to be severely punished as I see their actions as attempted murder. In my honest opinion, the police is not giving this case the attention it deserves. If these perpetrators are not dealt with seriously, they will do it again. The Antigua justice system needs to work overtime on this case. It needs to act as a deterrent to such brutality. Wishing Jahhym a near perfect recovery as life will not be the same again physically nor psychologically.

:?: This young man must really be a goodhearted peaceful boy :?: It is sad that I have to write this on here, being in such a critical state and will probably not be the same physically strong and healthy man anymore, I would definitely stay in Antigua well armed and prepared to defeat those perpetrators, I’d definitely avoid being fearful of walking in the public!!!

It’s not the first time Dominicans have had such grave crimes committed against them in Antigua and no effort put into solving these crimes so like all crime victims before you gonna just return home and become a statistic.
