DOMLEC has issued a significant and sweeping change to their disconnection policy.
Previously customers were not disconnected during Saturday’s, Sundays and public holidays, however, starting Sunday 10th February all no-disconnect days will cease.
Instead, when a customer’s balance hits zero they will be disconnected if they do not pay before 12pm of that same day.
Below is the full message issued by DOMLEC
Dear Valued Pay As You Go (PAUG) Customer,
DOMLEC wishes to advise you of an important update to the company’s no-disconnect policy.
Previously, there were no disconnections on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays- a measure introduced at a time when there were no PAUG vendors available and DOMLEC’s commercial offices were closed on weekends.
Over the years, DOMLEC has significantly expanded customer payment options and now has approximately 120 vendors island-wide, in addition to secure online payment platforms, via our website and NBD MoBanking.
In addition to the prepaid option where customers buy electricity in advance, DOMLEC also offers the ‘use first pay later’ post-paid option with payment due at the end of a monthly billing cycle.
To ensure the pre-paid system functions as designed and remains reliable for all customers, DOMLEC has taken a decision to cease all no-disconnect days for PAUG customers effective Sunday 10 February 2026.
What this means:
- PAUG customers will be disconnected anytime their wallet balance falls to zero irrespective of the day or time this happens.
- Customers are encouraged to replenish their wallets early in the day, well before 12:00 NOON, when disconnections begin.
Managing your balance proactively helps you avoid interruptions to your electricity supply. To that effect, we offer you several options to control your wallet balance. You may:
- Add funds using vendors across the island
- Use secure online payment options includingtopup.domlec.dm
- Pay at our Roseau or Portsmouth Offices Monday- Friday from 7:45am
- Control your usage any time of day viapaug.domlec.dm– making managing your account easy and convenient.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we make this transition. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact us at 255-6000.
Ok but where is the MUCH LOWER electricity that was supposed to come from the Geothermal Plant? Well I guess a lot of DLP issued apartments will go dark unless Chichi passes an executive order that stipulating that DUMBLEC shall not touch them

Life in Dominica has become unbearable because of the high cost of living, the excesses of the incumbent ministers of government, and the draconian and ill-advised policies of the oligarchs at the top of the food-chain of the country.
Jobs are fewer than hen’s teeth; wages are ground level low, savings non-existent; inflation ballooning daily; hunger is a constant companion of the majority impoverished citizens and residents.
Electricity and water are essentials. No one deliberately chooses to live without them. Therefore, when consumers fall in arrears with their electricity and water bills, the reason is usually because better cannot be done.
Meanwhile, the fat cats in government live in opulence, with palatial mansions, own and drive multiple luxurious vehicles; fly frequently overseas at the expense of taxpayers; while the homeless population mushrooms, and hunger and dispossession surge.
This is a stone hearted regime!
is not to say that they have been spinning the turbines manually..,… majority is automated…..very little supervision…
on-top of that ….u all can’t mentaining the supply when there’s a drizzle…when there’s no water it’s load- shedding! magwé sa!!
