Dominica State College’s Academic Calendar required students to return to face-to-face learning in October 2021. However, at a meeting of the College Administration, a decision was taken to extend online classes to October 29, 2021. This decision resulted from information received from stakeholders. The data indicated that a significant number of students had contracted COVID-19. Some were in home isolation, and others were at the COVID Hospital. Against that unstable background, it was decided to adhere to a safer and least disruptive learning environment by maintaining online learning, as the country continues to experience a relatively high prevalence of COVID-19.
President of the College, Dr. Donald Peters, informed that several factors are being considered for the resumption of face-to-face learning.
“At this time, the safety of all our students, faculty, and staff are the single most important variable driving this decision. The College does not have the authority to make vaccination or testing mandatory. As a result, the risk of resuming face-to-face would be significant and could lead to an escalation in COVID-19 cases,” said Dr. Peters. “We have looked at November 9, 2021, as another possible date for face-to-face learning, but that decision to open would depend on the number of students who are vaccinated, the number of national live cases, and the ability of the institution to mandate COVID-19 guidelines and protocols. We are hoping, however, that by November 1, 2021, the country will hopefully see a significant reduction in new COVID-19 cases.”
The College encourages students and employees to continue following the COVID-19 guidelines released by the Ministry of Health and to take advantage of the vaccination drive. These responsible measures will facilitate the reopening of their campus.
This is the best photo-opt I’ve seen in years. That’s what these disciples of the illegal occupant in the office of the prime minister is expertly good at. No gingerbeer strictly froth.
y’all are so stupid and backward. why is everyone trying to resume in person meetings and lifestyles. if it can be avoided then AVOID IT!!!!. allu old ppl there with allu backwards thinking mentality of it was done so so we have to continue so. oh shaite man.
Francisco, I think you are very sick and need help.
ds ( devil’s servant), you are the one who needs a thorough psychiatric assessment. It’s pellucid, you are suffering from severe cognitive decline from the way you reason. Seek immediate medical help. You just might be the first brain transplant patient. Francisco is quite stable unlike you.
How do you like your new name “Devil Servant?”
When you combine your birth name given to you by lbo, and the one I gave you which is dog feces (dog sh..), you find that you are quite a bunch garbage oui!
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!
You see when I am sick, I am the first to know; and so my first order of business if I know its an emergency, is to get into one of my cars and and drive to the ER:
In the event I know I cannot drive, I have enough commonsense to call the paramedics, to take me to the hospital, other than that I do have private doctors I visits with every two months to ensure I am in good health.
And by the way one of my woman is a medical doctor; she is a general practisioner; and mind you no matter the cost of my treatment, I don’t have to go on Radio and Television to beg for money to travel to get treatment, Roosevelt gives no handout to me.
That ole man should stand aside to give a younger person a chance in life.
Old man when I was kid, now I ole…
I have to conclude that FEDT is the “one” who causes the most hits to this website which is why he is allowed to continue to denigrate every contributor on this site on a daily basis. Everybody has the right to make a point respectfully but not everybody has the right to insult others. Sad that this is the doll in Dominica’s showcase.
To denigrate simply means to minimize, belittle, cause to seem less serious; or down play an issue.
The term is also Synonyms with (to) calumniate, smear, asperse, diminish, besmirch, disparage, slander, pick at, sully, smirch, defame, belittle, understate, derogate.
You see the English language is something that will expose one intelligence if we are not very careful when we are not very familiar; or fluent in the usage of the English language.
I do not denigrate anyone, I think before I write, I respond according to the way someone respond to me; people throw insults at me; I take it calmly and respond accordingly, without any intentions of denigrating anyone.
Some people need to understand that politics is not a clean thing; most; if not all of the comments on this site are political, don’t expect an olive branch all of the time; now the worst thing to do is to take things personal!
People insult me; I don’t take it personal; that’s the way our people are!
I am sure that students want to return to in-person learning, but they too must do their part. The tendency is for the young individuals to become complacent and drop the guard against this virus is very common. I urge the students to keep following the necessary guidelines and continue to be vigilant against the spread of spread of COVID-19.
There may not be a normal any time in the near future, but we can adjust to a new normal if everyone is willing to play their part.

One Love Dominicans #OLD767.
Educational institutions in the US have imposed Covid mandates for entry to the school buildings.. and so have several businesses and other organisations It is supported by the scientific facts that we are not likely to return to anything that seems approximately normal UNLESS a large percentage of people and students are vaccinated so why not implement mandate .Logic and intelligent thinking is not on the side of dragging this pandemic out. In fact no mandate is certain formula for continuing DISASTER socially and economically
Why is it so many Caribbean people always draw reference to the US to try to bolster their opinion? The US government’s decisions are mostly questionable; their morality thin; their democracy plagued with controversies.
Dr. Shillingford, you are sadly mistaken if you think we in the Caribbean should walk lockstep with the United States.
If it is if it is make belief people will know!
For this photo opportunity, you are so phoney ; pretending to be writing and talking at the same time; the show must go on, but I think it is time you advise yourself to go home in retirement; you are an old man who by now at your age should not be punching the time clock; unless you were operating your own business.
It is time for you to quit, people can only live for a short period of time, before we make exit either into a place where we await judgment, or exit into total oblivion!
Nevertheless, before we exit into heaven or hell, we need to take some time out to live and smell the roses, and ask God forgiveness for all our wicked deeds we done on his earth; especially our political wickedness!
And while I am at it; since you was part of the delegation which spend:
I coming back!
So, I come back again; to asks you: since you were one of the delegation which traveled to Singapore, at the expense of Dominica taxpayers money; along with the father of corruption Roosevelt Skerrit; that little corrupted crook!
Remember when you all said you were going to Singapore to get people (businessmen) people to come to Dominica and invest. Rather than going there to beg for investors to come to Dominica; you all should have gone there to study how and why their economy works, and you would find this:
Singapore has a highly developed and successful free-market economy. It enjoys an open and corruption-free environment, stable prices, and a per capita GDP higher than that of most developed countries. Unemployment is very low.
Now since Dominica is run by a bunch of corrupted; money guzzling craving people who on earth you all thought you could attract to your corrupted Dominica.
Man retire, and go home and rest.
When I was a little boy you were an old man…
