It is hard to think that Dominicans go about shooting people in the street. What is the motive behind that. May be the killer must have hurt inside so badly and this was his last option. Having said that, any human being, whosoever kill another human being, must be put to death. We don’t make guns here but, everybody own a gun. All Dominicans should take the blame.

      February 19, 2020

No, not ALL Dominicans should take the blame! Skerrit and his wife should take the blame, they are the ones that frequent the big wick gangsters in this country. Having said said, birds of a feather always flog together. I hope one of those days all Dominicans finally put on their THINKING HAT. It’s about time for us to face the facts!

Hello and good evening my people. First I want to offer my condolences to the victim family. It’s always sad to hear about another shooting death in Dominica but we must asked our selves what suggestions or solutions we can offer. A specially those of us who have law enforcement experience from abroad. Why can’t we contribute to a fund to have a continuous Gun Buy Back program which wouldn’t be tied to the Police Department rather it can be manage by a none profit organization. After a certain time the guns would be turned over to the Police for destruction. Maybe we must look at our Search and Seizure Law and give the Police a Stop,Question and Frisk rule that would help them better Police certain areas. We don’t manufacture firearms in Dominica so how those guns are coming into our country.

While we cannot blame our Government directly for the actions of individuals we should also note that a nation cannot rise above it’s leaders. If the Government is in darkness and doing evil then the nation will be in darkness and vice versa. Please let us turn to God for his coming is sooner than we think. We have a habit as Dominicans we are quick to comment and when the situation dies down we go back to our sewo loving lives and put God on the back burner.

Matthew 24:8-13 King James Version (KJV)
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.

10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

  8. 18/3?
    February 17, 2020

There is no better passage of scripture that describes the surrey state of Dominica than the one in Revelation 18:2 “Babylon is fallen—that great city is fallen! She has become a home for demons. She is a hideout for every foul spirit, a hideout for every foul vulture and every foul and dreadful animal.”

Since what we are seeing in Dominica is the result of 18/3, I wish that passage was in Revelation 18:3 to spell it out better but Rev. 18:3 describes the fall as this: “For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the [b]abundance of her luxury.”
I see Dominica well painted in their love affairs with China. Do you know with all what is happening in China today over 25 Chinese landed here to do Skerrit’s political bidding at the expense of the citizenry?

I never used to hear so much bad things taking place in Dominica on a Sunday. Sunday morning at 10:30, use to be the time worship service would start in most churches. Today that’s the time a murder took place close to the church those pastors say Melissa got saved in. But not only that but Sunday around 7 PM, was the start of the evening service and today, is a small plane that crashed around that time. I guess those religious leaders and church members were so involved in the Evils of Skerrit that today is a day of pain and sorrow

The ignorance and sheer stupidity in those words is alarming. Why do people blame Skerrit for EVERYTHING??? You give that man much more credit than he deserves. He is but a mere speck, not a god, neither is he the devil. He is a human, regard him as such.
Why don’t you say something more sensible or simply comment by expressing your condolences?
Maybe find out what really went down that Sunday morning before you spew this nonsensical talk.

jealous of a man that is not free, that live in a golden cage and have look over his shoulder for enemies everywhere. Well good luck to you if you want to be jealous of someone like that. Imagine, he cannot even go to Whitchurch or have a haircut by himself but police must protect him 24/7 in a small place like Dominica. Is that because his people love him so then. He sold his soul for what. I’m not rich but don’t owe anyone and am free brother. Good luck to Skerrit

  13. The EVil one
    February 16, 2020

What do I say? We rededicated Dominica to Satan on December 6, 2019, so what you expect? Didn’t Jesus say the thief came to steal, kill and destroy Jhn 8;44? A Nation built on unrighteousness and thiefry, shooting and killing is inevitable.

    • February 17, 2020

The EVil one, you found those words at John 8: 44?

Well here is what I found there:

“44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it”.

Maybe that is why your name is The EVil one. But the words of Jesus which are trying to speak is at John 10:10. What does it have to do with the news article, anyway?

  14. Go to Hell
    February 16, 2020

Right now I am even tired of saying to RIP. Seems this shooting thing is out of control as you don’t see an effort from the police or government to even try to stop it. Last weekend it was in Portsmouth and this time it’s in Roseau. People seem to be desperate and the country just keeps sliding deeper and deeper into chaos and utter darkness. “Go to hell” was where PM sent us but seems like he leads the way

    • Eagle-Eyed
      February 17, 2020

@ Go to hell, sometimes I don’t know whether to laugh or cry at the level of ignorance some of you guys display on DNO. It’s as if you guys live in a bubble. You want to blame the PM and the government for somebody deciding to use a weapon to take the life of another. I wonder what you would have said if it was the party that you support that was in government? The crux of the matter is, when somebody have a weapon in their hands whether it’s a gun or a knife, they don’t stop to think which party is in power or who is the prime minister – they will go ahead and commit what ever crime is on their mind at the time. So stop this ignorance and think of what you as an individual can do to help the Police and Government to combat these criminals. Shootings and stabbings happen all over the world even in countries that have the most resources to deal with these crimes.

      • Go To Hell
        February 17, 2020

@ Eagle- Eyed, I suggest you should cry about your ignorance. Let me ask you this question. Let’s assume Dominica never had snakes before and in 2004 your friend decides to bring in a snake and from that point on all our fowls are being eaten by snakes; would you blame the snake that killed the last fowl or, your friend that brought in the snake in 2004?

      February 17, 2020

I rebuke that in the Name of Jesus Christ. Dominica is not and will not slide deeper and deeper into chaos and utter darkness.

As a child of God , I speak, decree and declare peace and light in the atmosphere over Dominica. May the angels of God protect and fight on Dominica’s behalf. Just like how Michael the archangel defeated the demonic prince of Babylon when he was withholding the angel who had Daniel’s answer to his prayer, so shall the angels of God defeat the demonic prince and the demonic armies assigned to Dominica.

Dominica you are blessed. May you prosper in this times of uncertainty. May the people who live on your shores be blessed and full of Godly reverent fear. May your people have a deep understanding of God and be saved.

As I declare it so shall it be.

It is good to know that someone can think through a mind of Light among all those dark minded individuals in Dominica. Nelly, you are that someone, I commend your thought.

PM Skerrit, and his governing body, is not God; those people of crimes in Dominica are not his children. He cannot control the minds of people–you guys need to stop with your senseless noises; you all are the ones speaking the evil that is attacking our Dominica

If the person who committed that crime had the mind of Love, the mind of Jesus, that person would have been into something of Love, he/she would rebuke the thought of carrying a gun.

You all need to learn to speak against those “crime doers” and pray to God asking Him to deliver our country from those evil and wicked-minded individuals.

PM Skerrit has only two eyes, which can only see what is before him, he cannot go tracking down the wickedness and evil that is among us. Stop it! You foolish people!

You should have just ended it at “…surrender your heart today…” because that’s all anyone has control over.
