Seeing the ‘red’ in REDjet

Just when you thought air travel couldn’t get any worse, it did: more confusion, exploitation, manipulation and the occasional molestation. But wait! What’s that in the sky? A bird? A plane? Well, it is a plane: an old American Airlines plane painted “RED.”

REDjet is finally here to save us from the nightmarish experience flying has become. Or is it? First there were the TSA personnel who pushed their fingers in toddlers’ pants. Then a woman, in the midst of her pat-down, “grabbed and twisted” a security agent’s breast. Next, a 95-year-old cancer patient had her “wet and firm” adult diaper forcibly removed. Security is only the beginning of passenger abuse.

Up until last week, US airlines were pocketing an extra US$28 million daily thanks to a US Congress deadlock. Aviation taxes were not being charged to passengers, so airlines increased their fares by the tax amount, pocketing the difference.

Has any of you read the full article? Did you notice the price comparisons? The writer did what any rookie journalist ought to do: research and compare the fares and inform people. What it shows, along with research that I have done and attempted to post here, is that RedJet is not as cheap as it’s claiming. All it has done is a wonderful PR job.

For those who don’t get it this individual is telling you that don’t believe the hype about red jet. The basic fee given is real basic. Include luggage and other fees it does not pan out to be so low after all.

Neither do I. What does that have to do with red jet

A writer with an agenda. Caribbean Airlines and what was Air Jamaica are both owned by Trinidad and Redjet is perceived as a major threat to their bottom. Article was basically a hatchet job smh

I read your article twice and all I see is a combination of bla bla that has nothing to do with Red Jet. Dominica needs more competition travel-wise. And instead of blaming Red Jet you should attack the Islam fundamentalists for making our travel experience more and more embarrassing every time they try something new.
How would you feel if you were in that plane with that cancer patient knowing well that she could be an Islamic Fundamentalist? Keep reading: they come in the form of women, children, and old people too. And leave Red Jet de Rassssssssssssssssss alone.
