Catholic church should ban immodest dressing

Dear Editor: I commend the Vatican for banning immodest dress inside  Vatican City. Other  cities and churches in the world should do the same.

Women should be decently dressed, adorning themselves with modesty and dignity, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing, but with good works, such as become women professing Godliness.

The Blessed Virgin warned  Jacinta of Fatima while she was dying in a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1920 that “Certain fashions will be introduced which will offend Our Divine Lord very much. Those who serve God ought not to follow these fashions … the sins that lead most souls to hell are the sins of the flesh.”

Ladies, men, girls and boys should always wear clothing that they would not be shamed of in the sight of God. They may not be finely dressed or pretty and  graceful; they may not have those attractions which are most admired by the world; but if they have the virtues of modesty and purity they have something which money cannot buy and an ornament which will outlast all the fading treasures of earth.

I’m here to defend the one true catholic church instituted by christ through St. Peter the apostle being the first holy pope.
    1. The Hail Mary is from the angelic salutation. The one prayer that broght salvation – christ- to the world. because at the greeting of Angel Gabriel Jesus was made man in Mary’s womb. So we honour christ’s incarnation which still continues to form christ in us up till today.
    2. James 5 : 16 states:
“therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man has great power in its effect”. Except Jesus Who is more righteous than Mary? Are the Saints and Angels not righteous than us? If yes then we should ask them to pray for us

Why are you or the church worried about people’s dressing when the lives hat they live is so much more important. The people who constantly mount the pulpits of all the relegious denominations and living anti-social, evil adulterous lives in public; and tries to tell we the people what God says we should and should not do is the greater sin and that is where the church should concentrate its efforts in cleaning house and making a better presentation of the meaasge of God.

I agree with Paul Kokoski. We should ban immodest dressing. We should ban the Pope from wearing Prada shoes. We should ban the cardinals from wearing red velvet.

‘if they have the virtues of modesty and purity [then] they have something which money cannot buy’

    ^^^
By the logic of that statement, you imply that no member of the clergy in the Vatican has any virtues of modesty and/or purity as everything which the Vatican possesses was acquired by the financial contributions of the lemmings who follow that misguided cult. It is also very difficult to express one’s modesty when they are surrounded by priceless works of art.

The Bible said “Render your hearts and not your garments” ~ Simply, your character is more important than what you wear.

The Bible also states that how you look on he outside is a good predictor of how you are. People who dress immodestly, usually are dirty on the inside too as well as pollute their brothers and sisters.

This dressing code should be implemented in all assemblies , even pastors wives needa dress properly

Gary, again, I need to tell you, that Watcher, Pain, and myself, do not share religious beliefs. Religious belief is of Satan’s influence and the ideas of human wisdom and philosophy. But we share the revelation, wisdom, and understanding from God’s Holy Spirit as He passes them on to us by faith.

You are the one who is all wrapped up in religion, as you receive your counsel from Satan, who teaches you not to accept the Word of God from the Holy Bible. And yes, the Truth comes from the Holy Bible, as Jesus says to us: “The words that I speak are Spirit and they are Life”. Yes also, the common sense that you have does belong to the wind, for it is vanity, the stuff with no foundation; so it is easily blown away and vanishes into space like smoke.

It is you, Gary, who hears the lies. Satan started it in the Garden of Eden. Jesus Christ, the Son of Almighty God, tells us that: “Satan is a liar and the father of lies”. THE FATHER OF LIES, because Satan has many children in this world, who continue to live with his lies. The idea that suggests we are all God’s people or children, is another idea of religion and human wisdom.

When God was cursing Satan for betraying Eve, He told him “I will put enmity between her seed and your seed. The seed that God was talking about means children. So Satan have his own children in this world who is doing his dirty work for him. They are the enemy of God, trying to get God’s people on their side. Stop, and check with your mind for a few months or so.

Those children of Satan are spiritually blind, deaf, naked, and living in darkness. But God is Love, and He loves everyone. Jesus said: “I am the Light of the world”. “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no one comes to the Father but by me”. Refuse to believe that if you want to, but I believe that the Word of Jesus Christ is the Truth, You, Satan, and the rest of your company cannot stop me from writing it whenever I have the privilege.

Jesus also said that God chooses His people for Him, and those whom God have chosen for Jesus listens to His Word. But God also chooses messengers to speak His Words to His chosen people. Among those chosen messengers are people like Watcher, the Richardsons, and of course myself. Get that into your foolish, ignorant head, whether you want to or not!

Adam and Eve were not naked before God Almighty in the Garden of Eden. You got that information from the teachings of your satanic religion, which you would like to throw on me and others, because you cannot relate to our wisdom and understanding of Spirit and Truth.

Adam and Eve were dressed in Spiritual Light, the clothing of God Almighty, according to King David in Psalm 104, before they allowed Satan–Lucifer, as Pain called him–to interfere with their relationship with Him.

They became disrobed from this Spiritual dressing through their intimate (intercourse) relationship with the devil, but they immediately covered themselves with fig leaves and they went into hiding from the presence of God and His Holiness. God then, gave them clothing made out of animal’s skin to cover their physical body; but they continued in their state of spiritual nakedness.

Adam and Eve brought their offspring, including you Gary, into this world in that same state of spiritual nakedness. The fact that you were born naked has nothing to do with the physical. As soon as the baby is born the nurse and doctor wraps him or her with material clothing.

Your nakedness at birth signifies the fact that you are spiritually disrobed, and you must becomes spiritual dressed at your rebirth. “You must be born again of Water and the Spirit.” A person who is born again will desire to cover his/her nakedness, especially when he/she enters the House of God, because God demands it. For nakedness is spoken of as a form of shamefulness before God Almighty, wherever it is mentioned in the Holy Bible. But read Leviticus 18 for yourself.

Still for all wearing a three piece suit does not make you dressed Gary. You are now existing in the state of spiritual nakedness, blindness, deafness, and darkness, without Spiritual Light, the Life of your soul by faith in Jesus Christ. You are spiritually dead–numb to the presence of God–under the sole control of your human mind, as you eat the food that Satan is feeding you through his long spoon of your human senses–see, hear, feel, smell, and taste.

That is what’s troubling you Gary, you feel absolutely naked, you are hungry and thirsty, you want to hear and see, you want to come out of the darkness of your human existence. But you are foolishly proud.

You refuse to allow Jesus to dress you up with Light, the clothing of your soul in its awakening. You continue to listen to Satan, who tells you not to partake of the Spiritual Food that God is so happy to serve to you–His Word in Jesus Christ.

It is too bad that you provoked me to tell you about yourself, because of your continuous attack against every comment that I write pertaining to God, who has blessed me with Life in Spirit and in Truth. My judgement of His Holy Spirit, who has been living in me since September 1998.

Stop the nonsense that you are doing, and allow Jesus to redeem you from the prison of darkness, death, and nakedness, that Satan has trapped you in. Let God’s Holy Spirit teach you how to build faith, that you might become spiritually dressed, which will provoke your desire to stand in His presence, to give Him glory and honor, instead of foolishly arguing against everything you hear or read about Him, because you refuse to believe.

No one can help you Gary. Those comments that you are writing is not affecting us, who know God, in Jesus Christ. Your insults does nothing to us. We already know that it is the most foolish person who laughs at things which he or she does not understand.

You think that what I write and say is funny, but I feel sorry for you. You keep telling me that I have the right to my beliefs, so why do you continue to object, by specifically writing my name in your argument.

You conclude that beliefs are not truth, but Jesus said: “If you believe you will know the Truth”. Do you actually want me to say, you, Gary is right and Jesus is wrong? Well no sirree, Gary did not suffer and die on a cross that I might have Life in me. Gary does not know my suffering, my sadness, and the other afflictions in my Life. But Jesus said: “Come to me if you are carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest”. You, Gary, could never offer me that kind of rest, peace, and joy. You, Gary, could never be the kind of companionship that I have in Jesus Christ.

I like the way Pain said: I WANT TO GET TO THE BEST PLACE. God knows his heart, and He surely will grant his request, Why don’t start thinking like Pain? Stop your troubling to other people! Nobody wants it, so give it back to Satan.

    @elizabeth xavier:

Well Elizabeth it is no surprise that you’re in agreement with watcher, you both share the same
religious beliefs but that does not make it true as to what you both believe. Why is it the concept you have about God in regards to clothing and worship is absolutely true and every one should accept it. It is so funny as to what you write and say. You have a right to believe what ever you want to believe. Let me remind you, beliefs are not truths. The beliefs you hold about something and what it is are two different things. The Catholic Church have their own religious beliefs just as you have yours, what makes yours right and theirs wrong

The argument you and others have regarding clothing and what is appropriate for worship. Well the Story in the Bible describing the creation of the first humans, when God created them he left them naked in a Garden, why naked? Why God did not find it appropriate to give them clothing in the first place, it wasn’t until the serpent came along as the story says that clothing was given to them. What is the argument as to what clothing someone wears when he or she goes to worship God bringing religious beliefs to say what is appropriate. What is wrong with our common sense, are we just throwing it to the wind, What has religion done to our minds. It is time we see religion for what it is.When we blindly adopt a religion, a political system, a literary dogma, we become automaton and cease to grow.

The Catholic church have better things to worry about than how a woman dresses…! Maybe if the ladies keep dressing sexy in church the priests will stop watching little boys bottoms and start paying attention to the beautiful sisters around them. Only then will we have the problem of pedopilia that is killing the church under control. I myself like to see ma ladies very very very sexy in church. I am sure the priests are also taking notice

But mr. Paul, how did you know Mary warned Jacinta about dress codes on her dying bed?

You all just saying what you all want.. From the time Lucifer was cast down, there is a spiritual struggle going on up to this moment.
A lot of souls will be going to heaven and a lot of souls will be going to hell. I want to go the best place. Satan came to kill, steal and to destroy.
@ Watcher, your comment was very clear and straight forward. sound message!

  10. August 9, 2010

Watcher, I need to commend you again. You have done a great job, in explaining to the rest of us what modesty in the Church is really about, including a few other things. God’s Holy Spirit had me way up with enlightenment, as I read your comment, You have spoken the plain Truth. Keep up the good work, by the guidance of God’s Holy Spirit my brother/sister, and know that I am always looking out to find out what you have to say. I wish I could talk with you through email messaging,

Yes, we need to know how to read between the line of what is written because, as human beings we have good intentions, but we make many mistake. Mr. Koskosti, may have a good intention, but he is not allowing God’s Holy Spirit to guide his thoughts, as he speaks through human wisdom, which is extremely fallible. He missed the mark when he could only speak about modesty in the Church, using the example of women braiding their hair, wearing an earring, a necklace or bracelet, and that senseless blessed virgin Mary stuff.

It is time that we get it into our heads that God chose Mary, because she qualified for the work He wanted to do through a woman at the time. She was that special woman. In other words, Mary had the virtue and character which is of Love, which God needed in the woman He would choose to manifest Himself as the Son, in the physical Body of Jesus Christ.

Mary was humble–another word for modest–and she trusted and obeyed God, as we hear her asking no other question, except: “How could this be since I have known no man–I am a virgin”? After God’s Angel, Gabriel, explained the situation to her, she simply said: “Let it be done to me according to Your Word”. We read that the Angel left right after she said those words. For that was all God wanted to hear from her.

As Watcher emphasized, we need to study the Holy Bible on our own. God is ready and willing to teach us the Truth, by the Power of His Holy Spirit, but we need to receive what is in His Love Letter to us–the Holy Bible. We are depending too much on what we hear from other human beings, who makes just as many mistakes as we do.

God allowed Mary to continue her Life as a human being, when He commanded Joseph to take her as his wife. Mary went on to have other children through sexual relationship with her husband, Joseph. James and Jude, who contributed to the writings of the Bible, are children of Mary through her husband Joseph. That is why she was no longer the BLESSED VIRGIN, or saint, that the Catholic Church is worshipping in her, when she left this world. Canonizing Mary or any other virtuous human being who lived in this world is another idea of religion–the man-made rules and laws that some of us choose to accept and practice throughout our relationship with God.

We need to remember that Satan pretends to be on our side, but he is a liar, he is only setting destructive traps that is difficult for us to notice. One example is from the poem of the person named Mentally disturb. Divine revelation does not cause any mental disturbance to no one. Jesus said to the Jewish people who hesitated to believe Him: “If you believe you will know the Truth and the Truth will make you free”. “God is not a God of confusion; neither does in-corruption mix with corruption”. A person who believes spiritual revelation is causing them mental disturbance, has not received this revelation from God’s Holy Spirit. Let us not forget that Satan is spirit as well, and he is competing with God. That is why he can make you believe that the revelation you have received is divine.

When a person is sensitive of the presence of God in his/her Life, the first attitude that person will desire to demonstrate is reverend fear (respect and adoration) to God’s Holiness, which is Pure or Sacred. And this kind of reverend fear in them will influence them to continuously present themselves as such person, no matter if it is in the church house or outside of it.

A woman who is sensitive of the presence of God in her life, does not enter the church house with a dress that only holds up on her body by a shoulder string. Some of us wear short skirts which is way above our knees, we can only remain standing up with those skirts, and tops that leave more than half of our breast sticking out. I see those outfits in church all the time. But then I understand that not all the sheep belong to the fold.

Someone said that God’s Holy Spirit could inspire a prostitute to enter the church with prostitute attire; I beg to differ. The apostle Paul taught us not to cause our brothers and sisters to sin. The attire of a prostitute is to provoke the desire for sex in the men who looks at her. There are men in the church house as well. Would God advise a person to enter the church to tempt those who are expressing worship to Him? After all, Jesus was tempted three times; much more for us, who live with a human mind.

This may be the reason the Pope is becoming strict about the way women dress to enter the church house. We live in a time when priests are conducting all sorts of sexual sins. Let us stop to consider the vast number of times these men are tempted by the way we are dressed before them. How often do these men, when they go to their place of quiet, indulge themselves with the thoughts of what they witness on any given Sunday. How much temptation can some of those men fight against, before they explode with sexual desire, and wanting to put that desire to function.

The boys or the adult men whom they approach have sexual feelings that can definitely become aroused as well. Do you see how sexual sin is conceived between priest and a regular male person. Two wrongs do not make a right, but how much do we, as women of the church, who are so immodestly dressed, contribute to those wrong doings? Let us think about it.

    @Watcher:

What you’re doing is showing exactly what religion is all about, causing division and confusion Edward has a different philosophy than you, why is it you think that he is wrong and you’re right by using your religious beliefs based on your faith and understanding of the bible to to tell him he is wrong and criticize his faith or denomination. You have a right to your beliefs as to what your faith teaches you, but why do you not want Edward to have his religious beliefs as his denomination teaches him, What makes you think you’re right? and that he is wrong. It is time to get hold of our minds and not make religious beliefs and indoctrination get us into tunnel vision. Where is the great mind God has endowed in us to use, why are we not using it. Let us remember what a very wise man said do not judge according to appearances.

@edward: You call this a dressing code when one speaks about braids. Yes women has to dress modestly for example having their self partly naked/ naked but don’t tell me that now one speaks about hair brading?? Come on where did the Catholic Church get all that about penance and making yourself miserable for the Lord. Purgatory, first communion, Confirmation etc. Read the bible. These things are not in the Bible. REpent and be Baptised.. When you are brought to church as a baby, you are dedicated. You can only be baptised when you can make the decision for yourself. Read your bible and not the passages that are predestined for the various sundays. No purgatory.. No first communion… No Hail Mary.. Hail Mary was a greeting from the Angel Gabriel.. No saint can do anything for you. No Mass for the dead. It is the alive person one has to help to save from the everlasting Father. Remove the Statues and pray to the Father thru his son who died on the cross. The rosary … can do nothing. The bible is straighfoward on what we must do to inherit the kingdom. Yes Women should dress properly but not poorly or being a matyr. Our Father wants us to live in abundance. Read the book of Job where he lost everything when the Father allowed the Enemy to tempt him (He could not kill Job because our Father hedged Job). Job 42 verse 10 And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends; also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.

Most of the Father fearing men who lived, lived abundantly. Our Father does not want us to be hungry or be miserable. He said he will provide all our needs in his riches and glory. What we have to do is to follow his commandments and do not love the material things of this world to the extent that we forget him and adore the material things – money, wealth etc like the statues. The Father is a jealous Father and ” Thou shalt not have strange Gods.” Yes again Women dress properly but do not mislead women and say they have to dress miserably. Not even conrowing their hair or relaxing it and it is a sin to have their manageable etc. If women adore their clothing to the extent that they forget the Father who gave them the clothes etc, then this is a sin.

REad the bible more esp the New Testament is clear on what is to be done in receiving salavation. These articles should be replaced by articles to adress prayer, saving the lost souls of this world especially our youn persons. Addressing revelling which is encouraging more souls being lost. Let us unite in saving souls. Repent and be Baptised and to do the Father’s commandments. Let us grab the young ones and old ones from going to destruction and everlasting fire .

Yes Mr. Kokoski define to the readers what the sins of the flesh are and yes some clothing are encouraging those sins but to put braiding in this is out of place.

    Mat 6:25
So I say to you, Take no thought for your life, about food or drink, or about clothing for your body. Is not life more than food and the body more than its clothing?

1 Samuel 16:7 7 But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

I’m so glad that the Lord looks at me from the inside, while ‘CHURCH FOLK’ ‘CHURCH FOLK’ (not Christians) are judging me from the outside. They have no idea what’s inside my heart or my situation. If their right hand was taking care of their own business while their left hand was leaving everybody else’s alone, then maybe, just maybe they would figure out that God did not put them in charge of a person’s Sunday morning attire.

It makes me mad because it limits people who need to go to church and want to go to church. I’m sick of manmade rules in the church excluding people who need Jesus in whatever condition they are in. If a prostitute passes by a church and is overwhelmed by the Spirit of God should she just turn her back and walk away because she is not properly attired.

Can I get a column on DNO
so I can spit out this drone
    that cluttering my dome.
See I too have a lot,
    a whole hell of alot,
    of divinely inspired thoughts
that’s got me disturbed, mentally disturbed,
and I can no longer keep it inside,
I’ve got to share it here,
    so everyone can hear
the message of Jah that he sent to me,
    me and only me
    like how braiding ur hair
is a sin to be ware
cause when u die the lord will say
where is your dignity and modesty
go down to hell and ring the bell
to meet the devil in hell in his coconut shell.
