LETTER: Obama’s political message at National Mall questioned

US President, Obama. * Photo credit: vote08.freedomblogging.com

At the “Restoring Honor Rally” at the National Mall in Washington Saturday, commentator Glenn Beck stated that  U.S. President Obama’s political message is “a perversion of the gospel of Jesus Christ”.

From an  authentic  Christian perspective “liberation” is first and foremost liberation from the radical slavery of sin. This is not the kind of  liberation that President Obama preaches though he claims to be Christian. Obama’s aspiration for justice is captive to ideologies which hide or pervert its true meaning, and which propose to people struggling for their liberation goals which are contrary to the true purpose of human life. He proposes ways of action which imply the systematic recourse to violence, contrary to any ethic which is respectful of persons.  This is all evident in his support for homosexuality and his militant push for abortion and  embryonic stem cell research.

Obama’s theology of liberation  proposes a novel interpretation of both the content of faith and of Christian existence which seriously departs from the faith of Christ  and, in fact, actually constitutes a practical negation.  Concepts uncritically borrowed from Marxist  ideology and recourse to theses of a biblical hermeneutical marked by rationalism are at the basis of his  new interpretation.

With respectful and cordial best wishes, I remain,

Sincerely yours,
Paul Kokoski.

I just do not understand why all of these people who are not on the side of Barack Obama are using his faith–whatever it is–to write their negative belief about him to the public. The annoyance to me, is that they keep making a nuisance of Christianity, which identifies my relationship with God, in the Person of Jesus Christ.

The truth is that those people know nothing about God and Christianity. Foolishly, they do not realize we, who are Christians, know that about them.

The word “liberation” means “freedom”, and freedom in this time and age means people have the right to choose their way of Life in most aspect of living, or in circumstances that doesn’t call for law enforcement. .

So who is stupid enough to believe that the President is speaking about “slavery and sin” as he uses the term “liberation”? The man is a politician, not a pope. Why can’t he use certain terms, to speak about issues of Life, without having to relate them to the concepts of the Bible, just because he is a Christian, if that is his faith?

O God, I pray that the day is around the corner, when You will declare, to all of these haters of other people like themselves, “I DO NOT KNOW YOU”. For indeed, dear God, You commanded us to love each other, as we love ourselves.

@jOKES: What nonsense u talkin there about false prophets, Obama is a politician and was never a prophet or pretended to be one. In a country built on immigrants with so many different religions, don’t u fundamentalist christians understand that u can never marry politics and religion. When are you all going to understand that politics is about running a country while trying to balance the rights of all the various groups of that country: Blacks, Whites, Gays, Jews, Muslim, Christians, Asians, Latinos, Women etc. U get the picture. U cannot implement laws of one group without do the same for all the others, is that so hard for ya’ll crazy Christians to understand, but then again in your words morality based on tolerance is not a Christian idea, who’d have thought that Christ would be interesting in tolerating people.

Dominica News Online is turning into one of these rag websites, keep publishing these sensational letters and columns with these over the top sensationalist ideas as long as there is a disclaimer. I guess this might be about creating controversy to attract readers, but ya’ll might end up losing more level headed readers than you gain.

Talk about the anti Christ. There are a lot of false prophets in our midst. Obama came preaching a message of good, but now everyone is a bit taken aback as he gets down to things and reveals his beliefs.

He may have pulled out the troops from the war zone but has surely continued and strengthened the battle against Christianity.

So it’s peace without christ, value without christianity and morality based on tolerance. Absolutely nothing christian or religious.

He sure is turning out to be an interesting figure. But when such comments are made, people talk about conspirology. By the time we realize the truth of the times in which we live, it may be too late.
