This house is truly inspiring. I would concur that the owner has no high rent or mortgage to pay and sleeping worry free. While so many of us are struggling and have people calling on us for their money, this owner must be living the life. God Bless.

    April 12, 2011

How comes most people here assuming that this person doesn’t have to pay rent or mortgage? This person probably owe credit union and still paying his loan for his establishment. Now it looks like he he might need some repairs on the steps, the front wind-door (it’s both of them in one) and in the basement, so soon, he might have to add more money to that loan.

    • nice one wind-door

I bet none of U’ll will change ur palace. Nice design, inspiring, but the builder could do with some assistance. If I knew where he was I’d arrange a campaign for him to get materials to take it to the next level.

If u really want to help, it should not be too difficult to find the person. If u set up a legit fund I’ll contribute!

    April 12, 2011

I swear, the people that is laughing at this pic is so stupid! This is someone’s home. DNO should be ashamed of themselves to put someones home on display like that. This is no laughing matter. Dominican grow up!!!!!!!!!!

Now why should DNO be ashamed? What has DNO done wrong? This photo displays the skills of our people who try to provide shelter for themselves. I am sure the person who lives in this house is not called “homeless” since he/she has a roof over his/her head. I can tell by the surroundings, with the beautiful flowers, the owner takes pride in his skills. Hats off to DNO and to the hands that built this house.

Home on the range. Home in the lush greeneries. A peaceful place to reside and to lay his/her head, away from the hustle and bustle.
DNO is not laughing at the photo. DNO found it acceptable to post.
It is some of you critics who are laughing and making derogatory statements. You do not see the beauty of it and its surroundings.
There must be a person residing in it or merely using it as a temporary recluse. It is not important where it is situated. Many of you love to analyze and parse those pictures and critic them. Just admire the beauty.
Years gone by what type of housing did some of our ancestors have? Today, with so-called better housing some people appear to forget their very own humble beginnings. Talk of ungrateful people.
Keep in mind that as Our Almighty Father ordained, Our Lord Jesus Christ was born in a manger; not a mansion which is a lesson for us all which some, as Christians have not yet grasped and the meaning of it.
Therefore, appreciate this house and surroundings and cease your critics.

    April 12, 2011

What I admire most about this building is the design. Do you realise that the roof is well designed to withstand hurricanes? That is how our forefathers built their homes. Now we have flattened our rooves to be modern but it has put us at a disadvantage. Do you see that view from the man’s backdoor? Awesome!! Surrounded by lush greenery and overlooking the sea!! Immaculate!

Nice quiet house and area built between lush greeneries. One does not have to be rich and well-to-do to live happily and in peace.
Born free! We were born free. Our adult life is not free as we (some of us) harnessed ourselves with all that the world offers which placed us in bondage, some for the rest of their lives.
I bet that the owner of this house has a good night’s sleep. No mortgage, electricity, cable, etc to pay. That is an excellent, happy and free life. These people are the happiest ones on earth with no care in the world. This was the way it was meant to be for humanity.
Incidentally, someone sent me an email which shows a similar picture of a house except this house looked better built but approximately the same size and height. The subject is: “A Two Story House.” The first story/part of the house reads: “Politicians.” The second one reads: “Voters.” I thought this amusing.
Canadians are preparing for a Federal election in May, a forced one. The present Federal minority government got a vote of non-confidence. I do think this is unfair that two parties banned against him and his Party and forced an election. Also, considering the cost of election which will be in the millions of dollars at taxpayers’ expense. My vote goes to this Federal Prime Minister, again. I hope he wins the election. In my estimation, the other two are not worthy of my vote. These have been harassing the Prime Minister for the past year and wanted to call an election sooner. All Canadians are not pleased with them and their tactics.
At such a time there will be many amusing and sarcastic emails, statements and jokes.
People are people. In this case, we are somewhat no different when it comes to electing a government.

I seriously admire this person. No loan to build this home, so bank cannot repossess it. No worries except for a strong hurricane. Wish more Dominicans were more self supportive instead of begging and blaming the government.
