The tent was set up by Domsetco or Rosti to provide shelter near the hatchery for turtles. Additionally, the hotel and a peace corps volunteer frequently organize the youths to clean this beach.

Great picture and scenery. Beautiful! An excellent place to picnic.
The sea is choppy and looks as though there was a storm with high winds. Note the trees that are bent backward and the coconut trees which are bent sideways. Nevertheless, this is our Dominica. You never know when the rain will fall and what will occur afterwards. On a nice day I expect that the sea will be calm and safe for bathing.

Each village has a church, maybe the role of the parish is to assemble a volunteer group from the village organize by the church and clean the beach , the government or the village counsel should provide the trash bags to collect the rubbish [trash] and the disposall of the trash , and that should be for all villages i was in portmouth, and the beach need a littlecleaning up also, so lets do it for the betterment of our country.

the only problem there is that these beaches are not kept clean so are what are the tourist and locals really enjoying compare to places like the virgin islands its a shame how dominicans keeping are their environment

These beaches are kept just Fine. The tides come in and bring in a whole set of debris as the day goes. The sea brings in more and more sea weed, and junk with every wave. so please don’t criticize when you don’ know the situation.

what the hell are you trying to say? You mean our country is so bad that we can’t go out camping on the beach? STOP PAINTING THE COUNTRY BLACK, THE COUNTRIES WHERE THE TOURISTS COME FROM ARE FAR WORST THAN DOMINICA IN TERMS OF CRIME. If you can’t say something good, then say nothing at all, in other words…SHUT THE HELL UP.

What is so wrong in some one voicing their opinion why get up tight. Which Dominican in their right mind out camping. When last did you go camping. What picture (TINY) is painting. Listen if tourist wants to come to dominica they will still come. I am a Dominica and even if they pay me to camp out there I would not.

Grow up!!! there are crimes else where but we are speaking about D.A. where crime is put under the carpet.

        @ Amazing Fact (?)

The area looks inviting and safe. I remember those days when we did not even consider crimes taking place and in such areas.
The tourists consider the islands as Dominica relatively safe places to picnic and camp.
In their countries they camp in open fields which are specifically for campers. Some of those areas could be dangerous where bears and other dangerous animals exist and prowl. No exception criminals.
I hope that Dominicans and tourists alike will be able to enjoy those beaches in safety, just as they are, before or after a storm. Yes! The tourists do not mind. They are on vacation, to enjoy themselves and make the most of the opportunity. Prior to visiting Dominica, they know what it is all about. The travel agencies give them brochures and they can access the Internet for relevant information.
One thing let us keep those beaches, the tourists and Dominicans who picnic there safe. When the tourists return home they will say that they had a wonderful time and sing the praises of Dominica and nationals and encourage others to visit. This and safety should be our concern.
The thought is crossing my mind. For safety reasons, there should be a conspicuous sign posted at those picnic and camping areas: “Stay out! Loiterers and trespassers will be prosecuted!”
If only this could be done. I suppose that Dominica is a long way away from placing those signs.
