@Truth, Justice, Love, Peace and Unity: 100% Dominican,no matter where we reside.
i love this representing our country full wow
@Big-Bannan: my boy u should really shut up cause u cannot even spell
@Big-Bannan: where that coming in? anyways nice pic, really pretty
Dominica beauties in Toronto, Canada. This is a beautiful close-up. The young and older, all are young at heart. Mona, Junie, Effie, Shani and others, you’re looking good! You should also “strut your stuff” in Dominica for Independence. Probably next year.
This is one of our heritage, which we should never forget and never give up. It is imbedded in our blood, heart, mind and soul which no one can ever take away from us. It is our right given to us by no other but God Himself.
This picture is the one which Prime Minister Skerritt should have been in and which should have primarily displayed on DON Website. After all, he was invited to attend the Gala/Banquet with specifically fellow Dominicans. They dressed for this occasion, to welcome him.
We who reside abroad never forget our country. How can we? We did not give up our citizenship and have no wish to do so.
Generally speaking whether Dominicans are politicians or not, they should not be expected to and forced to give up another citizenship, passport of another country. There are Dominicans who resided out of Dominica, studied outside Dominica and who became citizens of other countries for personal reasons. This does not mean that they ceased to be Dominicans or that they disliked Dominica or are traitors to Dominica. Surely sensible and educated people should comprehend this.
Keeping the Dominican spirit alive, those who are born in Canada, whose parents are Dominicans of all are indoctrinated about Dominica, its culture and foods. How they love Dominican foods as well as those of us who were born in Dominica.
They love Dominica and from time to time they do visit Dominica. We do not specifically view them as born-Canadians although they are. This means, we do not see the difference except for their Canadian accents. They relate very well to all of us and vice versa, who were born in Dominica. This is thanks to their Dominican parents.
We also take an interest in what is occurring in Dominica. We are happy with you and mournful with you under those circumstances.
We wish nothing but the best for Dominica and fellow Dominicans who reside in Dominica.
We adapted to Canada, just as other Dominicans adapt to other countries they reside in but Dominica will always be our home and we will always refer to ourselves and be called as such “Dominicans”. It is a great feeling that we have “a home” we can return to anytime we wish.
May Dominica always have a democratic government, according every national their due rights and dignity. As God is looking on, on His beautiful country and people He created, please keep it this way for the happiness and peace of Dominican residents.
For the Independence, my thoughts are on the words of the song: “Enjoy yourself, its later than you think.” Have fun. Keep the peace of God. Keep healthy and young also young at heart.
God bless Dominica, residents of Dominica and Dominicans in other parts of the world and those who visit Dominica for the Independence celebrations.
@Cracker: Cracker boy my comment hit you hard. Are you the Jaunitor for the Villas? You seem to have a piece in the pie. I dont.
@Schoolmate:

well in sxm in church every 11th of november which is national day in sxm, we dominicans r proud to be dressed in our wob-douillette and cook our sangcoche and so on
also as i was the first female person to sing for independence (my name was reddyssy) along with spider and the rest, i am always proud and happy to sing the song O DOMINICA on that day

I hope you are aware that it was the UWP responsible for selling passport to Chinese nationals and the now government inherited the visa restriction.
Now tell me what the heck national wear has to do with that statement?
Wow Wow beautiful, i missed the gala heard it was beautiful and now I can see from the pictures. A big thank you should go out to Frances and Lorraine Delsol for all their had work.
