I am looking at the footware and the head gear of the guys: leather sandals (Maybe from Fanso?), tennis boots, and even a “tam”. Such were fashionable in those days. Remember the days when you would go to a party (for EC $5.00), and for the whole night is Cadence music of Grammacks, Exile One, Liquid Ice, Groovers, etc etc) and Bob Marley’s Reggae tunes. Wish I could get a copy of the original version of Grammack’s “NEW HORIZON”. That’s a song they could have played at the funeral mass or the burial.

Alexson or Allison did not move to Guadeloupe since he opted or becuase of parental guidance remain at the SMA.He was a science student in ROM 204 then.Tony Valmond was in the same clss then while Linford John was in the other. There were many guys involed with different bands while at school. Booth schools SMA and DGS could provide a back up band for their calypso show

I have a pix of Grammacks performing at the “Cadence Spactacular” show that was organised as part of activities for Independence 1978. With Jeff in his “soukouyan” hat, and some of the guys wearing their track-suit pants and platform-heels. I also have one of 2 members of Grammacks (including Jeff) as they performed at Carnival City in 1983 or thereabout, on a show with Tanbou Combo. By then Jeff-Jo had his full complement of dread-locks. Anyway it was nice of you Gregory to share this one with DNO readers. I willl try to share my pix with DNO once i mke the necessary preparations.

ADMIN: Thanks. Please send to [email protected]

Admin, I have to get them scanned first. Hoping to get that done during the course of the week as I don’t have a scanner at home. So once I get the JPEGS I will send them over.

ADMIN: Thanks for keeping our history alive.

wow see how them man come from scratch, and make it big, they never gave up,i think dominica had the most bands in the carribean, wooden stools, black machine, black affairs, mantra, mile stones, ignitions, boys and them, belles combo, voltage four, even one dude from trinidad, and a lot more i can not recall right now, since the infusion of cadence music a lot of brothers put in an effort to promote it, even if they did hold up,but jeff and them just kept going, bless them man heart.
