Photographers – novice, amateur or professional – in Dominica are asked to submit photos, photographer credit and caption to [email protected] for consideration for the Photo of the Day feature, daily on dominicanewsonline.com or news.dm.
Submissions can be accompanied by a brief profile and contact information of the photographer. Submissions will be published in the order they were received.
Photos must be taken of Dominicans and things Dominican. Note that submissions advertising any form of business or business activity will not be published.
Dominica News Online also encourages the submission of a variety of photos, ranging from nature shots, people shots, weird shots, interesting human interest shots, and anything ‘newsy’

In a land of so many Christians and God Fearing folks – why can’t something be done to give and honour the dignity of such persons who call the street home? In a land where everyone seem to get crossed regarding matters political and social, what is being done for the lest of our brothers and sisters such as ” Yellow”. a sign of true development is to ensure that the citizenry is well taken care not only by the Government but but all concerned. If we were truly serious bout our relationship with God – we would try to ensure that the poor is taken care of and not one citizen is left to decay daily as they face the raw deal of the elements out there.
Moreover,those who dont like to see such photos – well dats a reality check on the conscience, and a test of our Christianity or ” Church – ianity(my own word). The Goood Lord said, What soever you do to the lest of my brothers and sisters you do unto me. I am convinced that when Judgement day comes around- there will be lots of folks like those on the streets in the kingdom- You know – we might not like seeing them around us – but if we make it to heaven – we got to get use to the program- remember Lazarus and the Rich man.
This Picture is surely worth a million dollars worth of reflection for all Dominicans- those with big shots , big pappas and dem small men and women who nah cater for the lil ones, controllers in the land. but for real who

At the end of the exercise – we are all reflections of each other believe it our not. Please note that this statement is a reality check: Oh yes – It would be nice to trade places with the socially displaced folks for a week: Just one week – den you would know who is who: especially when we are professed Christians who are use to the fridge life and who never know how to bridge light- yellow and those on the streets – don’t can write books bout survival on the streets……….. This photograph does credit to the photographer and her subject. I say this as a painter and sculptor who has spent a lifetime struggling to capture the beauty, dignity and diversity of human life.
In depicting Yellow, it would have been easy for Lisa Alexis to have demeaned her, whereas in fact she has profoundly and sympathetically captured the very essence of her being.
HOW THEY CAN SAY YELLOW DIDNT GIVE CONSENT?ISNT IT CLEAR THAT YELLOW POSE UP FOR HER PIC TO PUT ONLINE AND ON MAGAZINES?

Is this woman in her right mind, if not then she should not be exploited, if she is in her right mind and gave consent she is an adult. While I may disagree with the photo, DNO should not be criticized for posting it, DNO is a news based (entertainment, sports) it should not be censored.
Yellow is up to de time and down to the minute…all styled out with her cap, accessories and high ct swim suit.

it looks like the government enjoy having yellow around town walking naked, as a tourist attraction. i want to say shame on every one that thinks shes cool and double shame on the government.last year when i visited home i could not stand seeing school children watching between her leg every time they pass by, i had to go buy her a peace of shot pants.yellow is the shame of every woman thats in town.please take care of that sister,where is our christian brothers and sisters .

Looks pretty much like she gave her consent to have the picture taken…there have been photos of other persons submitted…did you feel obliged to ask that question…guess you thought it ethical…just like you’re assuming now…something so harmless yet Unethical finds it unethical…each to his own…I showed Yellow the photo and she couldn’t stop laughing…she even ask for a copy for her man…there you go!

What is the problem with showing Yellow’s smoothe unblemished legs and thighs. Dominicans see their queens parading on stage all the time half nakid, they enjoy the MODELS half naked, what’s up with the double standards? Jealous they jealous! You looking good yellow!
