Beware those who worship idols, you know hat happens to them and their offspring.

“you shall not bow to them or serve them for I,, the Lordyour God,ama a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation of those whop hate me” (Exodus 20.5)

Your Idol, has succumbed to the temptations of the world unlike Jesus before satan. See Matthew 4.8-10.

You realize of course that this Dr. degree has even less value than the Ambassador’s one from Benin university in Togo.

Well, they say I know everything; nevertheless, I never profess to know it all, as such I am in a position where I need help in defining “Honoris Causa” in the English language. If one asks me to define literature I can define the word in more than a dozen ways.

However, I would be contented to say literature can be defined as : the body of written works produced in a particular language, or age. It can also be define as the body of writings on a particular subject: i.e. science; or it could be as simple as printed matter such as leaflets or circulars.

So, we know the definition of the word literature; not knowing the meaning of “Honoris Causa” we have to consider that garbage; rubbish!

Now can anyone point to any form of literature they know Skerrit ever wrote in his miserable life? Here is a man who is unable to master the English language; he expresses himself as a peasant, only to be endowed with an honorary degree from a none accredited…

If Vince believed he would come back to Dominica and get nominated by the DLP as Prime Minister of Dominica because he has a Dr. in front of his name, he better think again. No way according to Skeritt. You can be my deputy but not the Prime Minister of Dominica, unless Charlo decides to retire and I decide to reside in the $27 million mansion the Chinese built.

You can dress it up every which way …….. That\’s the MO of the Prime Minister operating under a shroud of Secrecy. There is no Transparency with this Administration. He is desperately trying to cover up everything he is involved in and this Bogus Honorary award is just one more example of how far PM will go. Nothing he does is by chance, there is always a connection. Don\’t take my word for it. Research the information on the Punjab individual in that photograph.

    February 23, 2016

But no one is telling us how much skerro paid for that. I know he never left the state for a year so he could go get his doctorate. Did he pay close to $92,000 for it? Just asking

Funny how my dear pm only receive awards in countries of no recognition

    • February 23, 2016

That’s completely ridiculous. India is a G20 country with over a billion people and one of the largest economies in the world.

      • Leave Dominica Alone Steve!
        February 24, 2016

It is also one of the most corrupt countries in the world.

      • Francisco Etienne-Dods Telemaque
        February 24, 2016

Steve, I do not understand, there is nothing so great being in the G20, Brazil, and Mexico is also in the G20, so too are all the following:

The Group of Twenty (also known as the G-20 or G20) is aninternational forum for the governments and central bank governors from 20 major economies.

The members include 19 individual countries.

Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France,Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico,Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States along with the European Union (EU). The EU is represented by the European Commission and by the European Central Bank.

The G-20 was founded in 1999 with the aim of studying, reviewing, and promoting high-level discussion of policy issues pertaining to the promotion of international financial stability.

      • Francisco Etienne-Dods Telemaque
        February 24, 2016

I think I understand your point, nevertheless, you are probably aware of the financial collapse and turmoil in Turkey.

Of what significance is Argentina to the G2O and the rest of the world. We remember Japan in the late 1970’s when it was noted the economy of Japan was so healthy that Japanese no longer knew the value of money, they paid any amount they were charged.

Long gone are those days Steve. As for Mexico people are still sleeping on dirt floors, in India there are more homeless people than any other place on earth you see!

So, being a member of the G20 does not mean wealth prosperity, and power, though India and Pakistan have their nuclear war-heads pointing at each other country. Mexico, Saudi Arabia , and Argentina, and others do not have weapons!

At least P.M. does not have to buy his costume for next year’s carnival. But if you really want to have a laugh Google “Dominica Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit pays…” on web site: http://www.prokerala.com>news>photos. You will see him wearing a nappy on his head. But seriously, the man does not look well. Is that the same “handsome” Skerrit with the famous dimple that won the election in 2005? No wonder GIS use dated photos of him for their press releases, preferably side profiles.

Uuummmmmmm, DNO, how is a picture of someone receiving a ‘degree'(in name only) in a subject they have not studied in depth be picture of the day???

P.S. – Aye DNO, I trust you guys will dispatch your investigative journalists to do some investigations into the “behind-the-story” of this picture. After all, news agencies in this day and age ought to go beyond merely reporting the news; you got to investigate the news ala BBC/CNN style.

    • February 23, 2016

What’s there to investigate? It’s an honorary degree rather than an earned one, so it’s meant only as a courtesy, not as a sign of academic achievement. (That’s why it’s considered bad form for those with honorary doctorates to refer to themselves as “doctor”.)

      • Channel 1
        February 23, 2016

@Steve Foerster – Sir, someone can be given an honorary degree as a courtesy true, but as a courtesy for what? That’s where the investigative part to the news comes in.

In another DNO article, the following was put forward as the reason:

[A statement from the Office of the Prime Minister said Skerrit was selected as “Chief Guest of the Convocation, because of what Chancellor Ashok Mittal described as his “enormous global impact”; being among the youngest, yet longest serving leaders in the democratic world today.”]

There are some strange utterances in that statement. What enormous global impact has Skerrit had to warrant a honorary degree? And awarding someone just because they are among a category of youngest, longest serving leaders…??? I mean really now…… 8-O 8-O

Why is a university right in India interested in Skerrit??

It’s either that university wants to be noticed in the C/bean or….or is something else going on behind the scenes?

        Stay tuned.

How much is Skerro paying you Steve to back his corner? We demand to know :)

      • February 24, 2016

Don’t be such a child. You can say something good about Skerrit without being a Labourite, and you can say something good about Linton without being UWP. No one is wrong or right all of the time, and this negativity and political tribalism (on both sides!) has gotten ridiculous.
