I got some blows but I doh care, that picture is a sign of how poor Dominica is.

Many of us travel to other islands and we see how advanced they are yet people want me to be proud of what look like a shanty town with houses thrown haphazardly all over the place.

SO if I have a bo-bo on my foot, I have to be proud of the bo-bo then just because it on my foot.

I say it again, this photo is a sign how poor and backward Dominica is. I thought seeing it every day on the ground was bad but seeing it from the air, makes it even worst. It look like it is stuck in the past while everyone else is living in the 21st century and beyond.

    Who vex, vex…I doh maylay.

bruh if you think that looks like a shanty town then you’ve never seen a shanty town or something wrong with your vision. While I agree with you that more organization is required in urban sectors the quality of those houses is definitely not an indication of poverty. Most of those houses in that picture have two floors, are built out of concrete and are in good condition.

The only concrete jungle is in your mouth and in your pocket. You’re broke and mad so any thing that you say will be criticisms. If you’re criticizing this beautiful scenery with 2 – 3 story buildings and green mountain in the background well you definitely need a psychiatrist

Bonjay,, Dominica really backward and poor eh.

This is the island’s second town and it looks like some settlement in the bush somewhere in Africa.

When are we going to see some development and some growth?

Not even a small village in our sister island St. Lucia look backwards as this. Geez.

I guess Dominicans like it so. Hmmmm

What is so backward about that picture. We do not need to look like a concret jungle on the nature island. You must stop trying to degrade Dominica. In the Woodlands in Texas and in Thiland this type of urban settlement is the norm. And why degrade Africa where in places where people live with nature there is little crime and no sex abuse. You sound like a white plantation owner out to destroy trees who have never heard of conservation and environment protection. Many people would love to live in such a habitat with the sea on one side and the hills and mountain in the background. Healthy living with clean fresh unpoluted air…..oxygen provided by those trees. A far cry from the congested and cluttered cities that you love. Traitor !

Nothing you said is actually true. Also, “Many people would love to live in such a habitat…etc” do they? How many people emigrate to other islands in the Caribbean? And how many people emigrate to Dominica? Not that many. How many tourists do other islands in the Caribbean get? And how many does Dominica get? Not that many. More people emigrate to the countryside parts of England than Dominica. Nothing you said are facts, just your opinion.

LOL Ralphie Alcendor calling me traitor, when he has USA attached to his name.

Why don’t u have Dominica attached to your name? Are u not proud? OR u are ashamed of the squalid poverty that is being showed in the photo?

A person who leaves his country to live in a another is calling me a traitor who lives in Dominica. YOU are the traitor Ralphie Alcendor. If Dominica is so nice, why don’t u come here and live?

        TRAITOR.

I’ve always said that calling Dominica the Nature Island is just holding Dominica back. It’s not ‘The Nature Island of the Caribbean’, it’s just the ‘Extremely Undeveloped Island of the Caribbean’. I’ve been to other islands and let’s be honest, other islands have nicer beaches, mountains, waterfalls, valleys, forests etc AND they’re more developed so I don’t understand where Dominica is coming from. “We don’t want this and that because it will destroy our natural island”…What? Even the UK has many mountains, beaches etc on the coasts and the UK is way more developed than Dominica, it’s all just excuses and they’re just holding the island back.

Its people like you I can’t stand. You get a lil paper to go overseas and all of a sudden Dominica is no longer good enough for you. I left home over 13 years ago, but I LOVE THAT PLACE NO MATTER WHAT. I have seen very very developed places but you know where I ALWAYS go every year? HOME TO DOMINICA. Be grateful for where u come from you twat!

I do not see the lack of development you speak of, Anonymous. I see sporting facilities, well painted two and three storied buildings, solar panels galore and clearly outlined streets. I guess you need to remove your blinders. And next time, remember, if you can’t say something good, don’t say anything at all, ok!
