PHOTO OF THE DAY: Pretty snail

    Beautiful colour. Need to preserve them in a park or somewhere.
    It reminds me of calimason in small streams. I had the opportunity to meet up with a small scorpion in a banana field. Don’t ask me how it got there!

    @commentator: I am not a biologist, but one who is aware of such creatures. The snail is indeed native, and one of some 30+ species of land snail on DA. You even meet these in banana fields, Note the blue coloration on the body too.

    Such a beautiful sight, I do hope that such natural attributes which makes Dominica natural will be preserved.

    A yellow apple snail. Very unusual to see this creature in Dominica.
    I do not think that it is a native.
    Any biologists out there?

    Havent seen this since i was a child growin up in the country and i just loved them, my grand parents and rest of my family always thought i was makin up the story, good to see it in picture… its amazing how nature colours go together, who would hve thought of putting yellow and blue or teal or whatever u want to call the colour together…Only Jah in his mighty wisdom
