This varity of banana is actually grown for its flower and not the fruit it comes in a range of different colours from light pink to deep purple. It has nothing to do with skerrit or anything or anybody else . Nature at its best

Most of the time when we try to make excuses to cover rubbish we sometimes lie about it!

I been living for a long time: I’ve seen in Dominica four different species of the banana plant, the regular banana; one called Gorse-Mitchell, another with a patios name cucoy. In Antigua they call them Bergerment: the other I don’t remember the name but the actual fingers as we call them are very short. The Plantain is basically family to the banana, actually another specie of bananas.

I have never experience banana plants grown specifically to grow flowers.

      That is a lie!

Now there is a plant similar to a water lily, it grows leaves longer than that of banana plant, that is not considered a banana plant! And we have plenty of that in the mountains of Wesley, and they do produce flowers.

Ad herein lies the problem with people who do not understand what is going on. They ascribe all kinds of nefarious reasons for what they do not understand.

They are used to seeing one type of banana, so in their mind there is only one species of banana in existence. If they see something they are not used to seeing, they think it is some sort of black magic.

As an individual in the horticulture area. You are correct. This is what we call an ornimental banana. Different colors in it as well. Look it up online people.

    Well should anyone be surprised?

I wonder is that banana plant one of the plants Skerrit and Drigo brought in from France where there are no Banana plantations to fight the disease devastating the Banana industry?

If one ask me that is not a wonder as someone said, that is one of the effects of science, where they tried to genetically alter the plant, instead of allowing nature to take its course!

What effect the Banana fruits are going to have on human health when they are cooked, or ripe, and eaten? After they are ingested will human life be shortened, or death will be instant?

I doh know eh; ah just asking!

My brother, someone said to be, “don’t let anything surprise you.” With man tampering with nature, one never knows what’s next. When we see many different things from the norm we should realise that it is the doing of man, always going against nature. Just think of the many things that we ingest that we think is food, when they are really artificially made. When we were growing up, food was grown in the ground but now food is found on the supermarkets’ shelves with an expiration date. That means, that there is some kind of preservative in the bag, can, tin or bottle. We turn around and consume these things and wonder why so many diseases are on the rise. There were not all these diseases when we were growing up and our fore-parents did not complain of so many ailments.
Many of us think that so-called development is great but with that comes a price. Just imagine in the future there is a company called Monsanto that will have control of seeds
      which will not reproduce.

We must return to the soil and plant again or else we will all perish. If some of us do not change our eating habits, it’s inevitable that we will succumb to sickness and disease. It is time for us to change our mindset as far as what we eat, wear, listen to, drink, and entertain. We have forgotten how to drink water and have embraced these sweet drinks and salty snacks that are affecting our bodies. Even the mixed fabricks that we wear have an effect on our bodies. We ought to wear natural fabricks to allow our skin to breathe. And especially for our sisters, we need to let go of the false hair. We were born with natural hair so why should it be covered with sometimes dead peoples’ and animals’ hair? Sisters, let you scalp breathe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love yourself by appreciating the way you were born.

Jah kno star some ah unu dunce like bat and tink unu smart. Listen to this – the breeding practise that brought about the banana that we know today was done years before the science of genetics was developed. It was done through traditional means the problem is that new plants are bred from a clone (the suckers that NATURALLY spring up from the side of the plant) instead of sexual reproduction. Every single Cavendish plant has the exact same DNA which is why they all get affected by the same disease. Try reading and educating yourself cuz jah know some ah unu sound reaaaal stupid.
