Photographers – novice, amateur or professional – in Dominica are asked to submit photos, photographer credit and caption to [email protected] for consideration for the Photo of the Day feature, daily on dominicanewsonline.com or news.dm.

Submissions can be accompanied by a brief profile and contact information of the photographer. Submissions will be published in the order they were received.

Photos must be taken of Dominicans and things Dominican. Note that submissions advertising any form of business or business activity will not be published.

Dominica News Online also encourages the submission of a variety of photos, ranging from nature shots, people shots, weird shots, interesting human interest shots, and anything ‘newsy’

    It was a privilege to have been born and raised in Porssie. You think that what you see here in the photo is fun- think of the days when we had no video games , computers , two tv channels ; the number of things that we did – boating activities, yachts sailing in river and sea, sailing races on the weekend,peddling fruits for the tourist, acrobatics on the beach, soccer, cricket, volley ball, track and field all on the beach, saint peters feast use to be a blast. What about fishing on the sea shore under the moonlight, snorkeling around the cabrits area. Portsmouth has always been unique

    Is this an optical illusion? what bird did he drop off? did he drop off a helicopter?,somebody enligthen me.

      A rope attached to a coconut tree.

      My guess is he was swinging from a rope tied to a tree on the beach. This is done often in Possie.

    wow I’m particularly enjoying this pic because i had the the experience of doing this very thing at this beach a few weeks ago. cherish the fun things you can while young cuz you wouldn’t always be able to do the same things later on in life…
