I would suggest you join one of the hiking clubs on the island and do the Saturday explorations with them. There is so much of Dominica that Dominicans dont know about. But dont depend on others to tell you, go find out. Be adventurous in your country people…. dont let the tourist know more than you!

I am surprised that many Dominicans
    confuse a ‘pont'(bridge)with a ‘pond’
    where ducks swim.Your official documents
indicate that the area is correctly
named Pont Casse. I prefer to guess that
there was a broken bridge there rather
    than a broken pond.

You people!! Isn’t that the intent, to create the mysticism for tourists, and to lure them to our shores?

      Always criticizing.

Let me educate you: Pond Casse is located in the interior of Dominica. Oh no, now I have to educate you where Dominica is….well here we go, Dominica is an island located in the Windward Islands….the Windward Islands are located in the Caribbean, the Caribbean is located in the between the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean.

Are you sufficiently “educated” now? SMH

It’s that kind of attitude that causes ignorance to thrive. Sometimes we take our knowledge for granted and forget that there are people who just don’t know.

    ****PENRICE FALLS****

    Acording to;
    http://www.avirtualdominica.com/hidden.cfm

    Penrice
These two falls, 10 minutes apart, are themselves just a 20 minute walk through in the middle of the island. The second fall is best with a deeper pool to swim in.
Take the Marigot road from the roundabout at Pond Casse and park at Spanny’s Bar – between Pont Casse and Belles – and ask for directions.

Thanks DNO for mentioning the name “PENRICE”. I myself never knew of such falls!!

TrueMan, There are the Penrice Falls and then there are the Jacko Falls. The Jacko Falls are merely seconds away from the Main Road. The Penrice Falls, a.k.a. Spanny Falls are further away from the road.

Sorry, but you are talking about the Spanny Falls. Jacko Falls are on the other side of the valley. The entrance is where they have this fruit stand for tourist. Please lets learn more about our country!
