man let the children be children, you did it and gain experience, so are the kids, they need these challenges, so let the children be children, let them play.

For that matter, the next event for this group should be one night at Krazy Coconuts when those EXOTIC DANCERS come back

You see this is what is wrong with this country. I suppose all those nay sayers would find it safer that the young people get their minds ‘ENDANGERED’ by the kkk ers and the tattoo palours anf those DJ’s that soil their minds. I remember we doing more challenging stuff thatn this when i was young.
Now we get “KOPAWAYZON” Americanized. i am sure they were not the first to climb those rocks and they certianly will not be the last. Good day.

well i might not send my future children to do what we did. lol but we did. Yes it was risky, but you never know if you can accomplish what looks impossible until you try.

We took our time. That was fun!…but what government have to do with that?

the joys of youth. I keep telling my children, that these are the things to enjoy. Cause when you grow up, you no longer have the time to do these things. It goes into worrying about getting the loans and bills paid. Have good clean fun, and enyoy this part of your youth. You are allowed to walk this road once.

The freedom and joy of school holidays. They are on an outing and this is excellent exercise but dangerous. Children will always be adventurous and take chances. Enjoy but keep safe.
When I was a child a few of us would scale down a precipice. It was something to do. We took the chance but it was fun. We got down there and up with no problem.
My parents were not aware. They were out at that time. Just imagine if they had found out. Today, as an adult, I would not venture doing this nor would I recommend it and encourage it. Children will be children.

Dominicans really amuse me sometimes. If it was saying some child got hurt rock climbing, everyone would be like were was the safety net, how irresponsible of the adults, blah, blah, blah and what have you. Just because people are concerned is not a reason to insult them.

As a child I did all those dangerous things our mothers wouldn’t approve of and I’m sure many of you did as well. God if my mother only knew some of the risks I took……

I agree it looks fun and maybe more dangerous in the picture than it may appear. But as a parent, I would also have some safety concerns about my child doing that. And I know as a child my mother would not allow me to do it.

I agree with you dominicans dont need all that protective stuff. I used to be able to do that with a piece of wood on my head! I know many others could too.

You are correct that is the first thing that came to mind! There is a big difference when experienced people do this. They pay attention to stability of the rock structure plus they are tethered most times to a rope. I would not recommend just climbing any cliff face like that..

Anyway go ahead I ready for the T- downs

I agree witht the two comments above, and would add that the next question you can hope to hear is: “How come government allowing young people to take their lives into their own hands with such wreckless abandon?”

People have a responsibility – they owe it to themselves – to take measures appropriate to protect themselves when they undertake these dangerous activities.

That’s dangerous. No harness, no helmet, no gloves. come on

      August 11, 2011

u neeed to get out more.. seriously…

    • August 11, 2011

there were no cuts, no bruises, no broken bone or heads or arms. there was only fun excitement, challenge, and intrepidity… and that was the whole point of the hike… its called growth!

besides harnesses and gloves would have been an impediment and would have increased the risk.
you may not believe me so u should try it to see for yourself

You know what hind sight is 20-20. Growing up in DA we did the same! Most times it was uneventful, but there were the odd times things went wrong. All we are saying is this is dangerous and you all should exercise caution. The people who make those kind of comments care about you all’s safety. All is well until something goes awry…

What you talking about have you ever been to the place its not as dangerous as it looks omg
