GREAT photo, Khan! You know me – just remember carpet and chairs at your workplace. Nice memories man! I remember those we use to make when we were kids. Also do you remember the bigger ‘carts’with ‘buzzwheels’ we made and used them to transport loads from the market for people? That was so much fun. We had no cell phones and internet, and sometimes to TV to spoil such outdoors natural fun. And none of these big toys costed more than a couple of ‘ponged’ fingers here and there to build. lol.Compare that with $500 + toys kids nowadays want to ‘play’ with and which lands them in so much trouble at times.

Nice photo. I remember when I used to build my own “truck” in my boyhood days, even putting a piece of rubber over the wheels, two flashlight bulbs hooked up to a size D battery for headlight, just to name a few of the accessories. I tried to make them look as close as possible to the BEDFORD Trucks of our time. These were good old days, that won’t ever come back, but will stay a lifetime in my memory.

What a wonderful sight! I searched the phptograph long and hard to find a 3-wheel scrooter but couldn’t notice any. Keep up the creativity amoung our children! We might just be looking at futur builders and great engineers

There is a joy indeed of owning your own truck; all sorts of truck. I suppose that they are taking their toy trucks for an afternoon or daytime walk as it were in those days when children had toys and played with them. :) Be children first. Keep it up as children. You are only children once.

What about the two wheelers; the front end loaders or what we called catterpillars with the corn beef cans as the bucket; the bobin caterpillars with a piece of candle and rubber tube.
The best truck ever made in Dominica was one made by a dude from Borne and was displayed at an exhibition in portsmouth. This truck had evrything that trucks back in the days carried. In fact that truck was identical to Portay truck back in the days.
Great memories-with video games, cell phones etc those wonderful past time are lost forever. Not only that those cheap lead base Chinese toys prevail.

WoW!what a wonderful childhood memories. I remember building my own truck and driving around all of Marigot. No videos or cellphones can replace those good times, when kids were outside all day playing and building their own toys.

Kids nowadays have no idea what fun is, those were the days of fun when everybody used to see who could make the better truck and yes Domerican lots of kids used to use them as their shopping carts. These were fun days, good on SMP to try and bring them back.

Oh my gosh I remember those. This photo brought a wide smile to my face this morning. These trucks were sometimes used as our shopping carts when we would be sent to buy “message” in the local shops in Possie. I love it.
