PHOTO OF THE DAY: The Love Birds

This photo was taken from my porch. I ran inside to get the camera when I saw the birds were deep in affection.

    @Kelvin James:

The picture, scene and posture of the birds are beautiful. It is a unique picture. It is said: “Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.”
There are some people who do not appreciate beauty. Pay no attention to those critics who do nothing in elevating the spirit of others. They are at a disadvantage. There are many statements which could describe them. You did well. Keep on taking pictures of whatever scenery you wish.

    God bless you!

    Lol aye yow,

I doh really see what the fuss is about here. who saying i doh have porch ( clearly trying to be funny) who saying my camera not good, who saying my pic is not talent ( its not… ) Who saying i should not run and get the camera. I could dispute all that but am above that. The fact is am not getting half of a 5 cents for posting stuff on DNO. I am just participating in something Dominican, as a young persons are often asked to do. I sent alot of great pics to the site, they choose this one cause i guess it was kinda interesting to them as it was to me . The photo was cropped to show the birds so there was obviously more noise and the pixel deformation is clear.I am not in any contest here, so all this is uncalled for. I just think we should be a little more positive. Most of you even don’t know me.
However thanks to everyone who had something positive to say. Also thanks to all the negative comments too. lol now i know i need to build a porch get a better camera and maybe order some talent on ebay !!! lol.

    peace!!

@ my2sense : I am really not saying that you hating, but lets not look for negativity in every thing and try to be positive. When the person said talent they know what they mean… it is not based on the pic the camera is not low standard the picture was cropped. As a dominican try to be one track minded.. the he saw the birds before and went to get the camera don’t you think the birds moved? and he still ended up getting them in that position/ angle? wey wey wey black people cannot appreciate nothing DNO pick the man thing just appreciate it nuh.. i think we all should just shuddup if you can’t say something to uplift ones spirit … You can critic but doh try to play like you got two cents when you might just be none-sense!

Put my boy down flat please.
Kelvin has alot of talent. He is an amazing painter and artist.
It does not matter what kind of camera he used, it only matters that DNO thought enough of the photo to post it.
No matter what it seems that Dominicans have say something negative and try to bring down people.
What negative is there to find in that picture? Nothing!!
    Everything is art!
    Stuuuuuuuuuuuuuuupes.

Some of you may think I am “hating” by saying this but, there is no real talent in running inside and get a camera and then taking a picture. Obviously the camera is of a low standard and well… it’s just a still photo… nothing really grand about it.

It is good that he had the sense to grab his camera but that’s not talent though, unless if you guys are referring to him recognizing the opportunity as a talent… There may be some wiggle room for argument there.

As for whether or not they’re being affectionate, I don’t think they are. The angle that the picture was taken is misleading.

    That’s My2Sense

There are some people who appear not to appreciate beauty and what is beautiful to view. They will always find something to criticize about. It is as if they are searching for them. I refer to them as critics, miserable and unhappy people. Something is wrong with those who do not admire beauty, be it birds, rivers or trees.
So it was taken from a porch! Just great!
Love makes the world go round. Love birds. The birds are typical example of love. Have you ever seen birds fight? I am certain, very seldom.
In Toronto there are also birds and pigeons to name a few of these species. I have noted how they get along well. There are times they are seen flying in a long line together. This is a beautiful sight to behold. I would love to take such a picture if at that time I had my camera.
At other times during the day or at night, two of them even a few more will find a place to rest and sleep, either on a balcony, on a porch or in some other area where it is comfortable.
Other than when they are searching for food, I often wonder why the pigeons do not remain on trees or on rooftops as the birds. As birds, they are also seen on hydro wires but they do not sleep there. People have to be careful as they pass by they do not mess on their head. This happens you know. :)
Pigeons love to be near humans. Some people who have what I term as bleeding hearts for them feed them.
The City Councilor has issued information that people should not feed them. This causes them to come around homes and schools and remain there and also breed. And you know what they do when they remain on balconies and porches. They can be a nuisance and make a mess especially in spring, their mating season and in winter if they are allowed to remain there.
They are supposed to fly south in winter but some of them will remain here because they are fed.
I have seen some people feeding them and asked them not to do so. You do know how some people do not like to be corrected. I call them ignorant ones.
To those who are familiar with Holy Scriptures, I quote what Our Lord Jesus Christ said: Matthew 6:26 – Look at the birds in the sky, they do not sow or reap, they gather nothing into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
I also state, look at how healthy the birds are, even healthier than people. They do.
As a nuisance as the pigeons could be they are beautiful.
Some people place a wire mesh to deter them. This is the only solution. This mesh could cost about $100 to $140 to put them up, if not more today. Everything costs money and is money-making.
Thank God Dominica does not have those pigeons.
The picture of the birds on the rooftop is beautiful! They are God’s creation. Admire beauty. God gave us eyes to also see and admire the beauty of the earth and everything else as birds. There are those who do not have eyes to see and wished that they did. Thank God we have eyes to see. Thank God for those who can admire this beauty. This is gratitude to God.

    October 15, 2010

oh my goodness, why are you guys hating on the pic and the person who took it. How many of you own a camera? If you all do then show us you have some sort of talent and take a few pics. We are so bent on criticising and putting people down instead of building them up.. no wonder,

What does it matter if he has a porch or not. Here in America, the step in front of your door is also considered a porch.

Anyway, nice picture Kelvin. You have so much talent, continue to use it.
