@mouth of the south: you’re right and wrong, its dangerous to use your ‘cell phone’ because the radio communication could mess with the flight instruments. However if your ‘phone’ has other features, like a camera, you could use that with no harm to anything, because its not transmitting radio waves. In fact most smart phones have an ‘airplane mode’, that allows you to switch off your phone’s transmitter and use the other features if you want to. This is a really nice picture, the river is dirty because its obviously raining in the mountains. If you look at the picture again you will see the portion of cloud towards the top right of the picture. Anyone who knows dominica knows that when it rains the river runs dirty, because it overflows the banks and erodes the dirt from the banks. This is natural. I miss my dominica!!
@top ranking:
lol
@Homeboy: Don’t you realize that only crystal clear water runs down to the sea on a non rainy day? It should be quite obvious to you the type of weather we were experiencing in DA on the day that the photo was taken. We know that DA is the only island that Christopher Columbus would recognize if he revisited the area today; so, what are you talking about “hence the land becomes barren as in Haiti?”
dats a nice view.. pretty pic
@Truth, Justice, Peace and Love: WELL SAID
@mouth of the south: boss that is not the flashlight phone u have…u need to upgrade…gave u ever heard of airplane mode
@ Homeboy……I’m assuming you are not in Dominica or else you would know that the entire week of the 15th of October rained cats and dogs….there were thunder storms all week. So the silt was not from cutting of trees and we are nowhere close to being like Haiti.
my beautiful Island.
Jean Yves for an amateur you are not to bad at all, great photo. Beautiful island
pretty pic
have any of all u realised how dangerous it was to have a cell phone in operation while in flight!!!!! hhhhhmmmmm awa eh we not easy
Nice Aerial view of Roseau! Keep takiing good pictures and submit to DNO.
Cool picture showing a portion of Dominica from another angle.
boy i can see good will
nice pic … although i missing bird man burrrrr
Yes I timbok 2 say he seeing his home i not sure if he staying in the Roseau River
While a great aerial pic, the amount of silt deposited indicates that erosion is occurring in the upper regions or valleys, either through indiscriminate cutting of trees. This needs to be looked at and addressed hence the land becomes barren like in Haiti.
What beauty! Beyond words! Beautiful!
This reminds me a few years ago when I had visited Dominica, I was walking at the Bay Front on my way to the Post Office. I noticed a tourist ship named “The Jubilee”. I took the picture of this beautiful ship which I treasure. Of course, I also took pictures of some beautiful sceneries and rainbows.
Soon enough, always if the Good Lord wills, I will visit Dominica and will take some of those pictures. Can’t wait!
God bless Dominica with its beautiful sceneries.
God bless those who are able to see the beauty in those pictures and appreciate them which the photographers take and submit to DNO. They see the beauty in all these sceneries.
God bless DNO for placing them on the Website for all of us specifically those abroad who enjoy viewing them and wished that we were visiting at this time. They keeps us close to our beautiful island of Dominica.
nice pic…aye i can see me house…
