Thanks to all who participated in our last Weekend Fun.
The plant is known locally as Lang Beff but is also known as Mother’s Tongue or Lamowee.
In some sections of the Leeward Islands it is used to make a rope call ‘fisal.’

Snake plant. also called lang beff
Called Lang Boeuf in my village. It is named Sansevieria in my book about plants. Also called sisal. We used to pound it with a stone, scrape it and dry the strands. When dry, we plaited it and made purses, small mats and other craft items. It grew abundantly on the hillside in that west coast village.
Mother in law tongue.
It has a very pungent scent at night especially if inside the house.
It is …langue poule. Langue beff is the giant sized green one with thornes. Truss me.
