Welcome to the first issue of “What’s Hot”, a brand new fun initiative on DNO designed to highlight various aspects of Dominica’s colorful culture. It also aims to promote and give some sort of recognition to the various talents of locals, both young and old.
“What’s Hot” will provide fans with the opportunity to vote for their favourite feature be it music, sports, cars, fashion or food.
In this first edition, we’re asking you to vote for your favourite young male artist.

Goodwill resident Colton “Coltont” Thomas has been entertaining Dominicans with hits such as “Can’t be Friends” and one of his latest releases “Ice Cream man”. Coltont has been featured in various local shows and has gone on tour in Guadeloupe and Jamaica. Do you think he has what it takes to be DNO’s Hottest???

C.H.O.E.B’s Bertist “Bert” Jeffers is a Portsmouth resident who loves his music. Bert is a member of a young music group called C.H.O.E.B. He has appeared with the group on numerous occasions across the island and is featured in the group’s latest video “Party” this young man loves the ladies and as seen in the video the ladies love him. so tell us is he DNO’s hottest???
Jordan “Kayyo” George
Coming all the way from Castle Bruce Jordan “Kayyo” George has been doing more than simply recording…this artist has been making waves. With his recent act in Minnesotta –opening the stage for international artist Meek Mill, Kayyo is now one of the biggest artists out there. This young man has recently released a mixtape “Reevaluation” and his video “Get to Know You” is a crowd favourite. What do you think? Is he worthy of the the title of DNO’s hottest?

well if you talkin about hottest, i know a dj that must be suffering from 3rd degree burns…hot he hot so….. that man cause alot of other people to be hot and even bouyon music to change around… all-doh these local artist step up their game, is that man that cause doors to be open to hear about some of these artist and other djs, because couple years ago is live band like triple kay,mfr and ck alone people wanted to hear…so respect tha boss dj flip… performing all over,everyweekend,pullin crowds all over local and overseas…and makin his own music,albums,riddims,videos and more… like it or not, no other dj to compare…

I cant stand Benji singing he just does not have it in his voice but his looks? Benji looks like a young male of African decent, nothing more nothing less why the physical bashing? Geez we shallow. Big up to these 3 artist who are all actively doing their thing… i wish them well in future and i hope they keep it up… Big up to DNO For at least highlighting local talent in a positive way, lets hope other artist step up and and try to get featured on “what’s hot”… I Think we should also do a feature on Bouyon music as it will highlight the work and change that has been going on recently, and remember Bouyon is ours and we should support it, and not just hide behind anonymous names to make negative comments towards bouyon artist and the music itself… Big up artist like Benz,Asa,Benji,Flipside Ent,Nayee,Wck,Triple Kay,Bouyon Gwada artist like Supppa (R.i.p) who are the Hottest and can pull the largest crowd ,and are making the biggest impact lets not make their work go unnoticed…

thats a mis match when u have most top djs dying out recently, u dont hear about to much of them so called big dj… we all know who go take that cake and eat it all up… when 1 can do what all can do… but non can do what that one can do…

They making all kind of silly comments that not relevant. I respect all these artists there and they will represent Dca wherever they go but does any of them sing “Dominican grown” music. Dice is in a category of his own, fine, and all these three are young and up coming and big up to them but if is one man that atleast trying to be professional and still push our style of music is Nayee. He was brave enough to lean back and do his own thing. He got lyrics that good enough for babies and elderlies alike. Pure groove and vibes. We should support EVERYONE of our artists but most importantly those who carry their own type of music out of Dominica. Big up Nayee, Dj Flip and R.i.P Suppa. BOUYON TO THE WORLD!!!!!

It seem as if Colton has no competition here, with two more to chose from, I definitely like him. And so I hope that this idea will motivate our entertainers–especially the younger ones to come out of their shell, so to show us who they really are–pertaining to the positive and good side; we don’t care for negativity.
I am looking forward, in the future, to see much more than 2 against “Colton” in this “What’s Hot–Male Artist Contest”
Come on young men and women of DA, show us that you are the future of our homeland with a vision that is healthy and demanding-go for the “Title”
DNO here you go wrong again…when you make this thing into a competition you are going to expose such talented artist to all kinds of unsavory remarks from the hangwomen and hangmen on DNO. We have a crab in hole mentality and this is unfortunate. These artist must be encouraged but some or many of us lack the mentality for mature commentary.
I wish these men the best. What I can suggests to DNO is to encourage FREE SPEECH but remember patrons to this network must do so RESPONSIBLY. Hence DNO must quarantine All negative comments especially those statements that appear to be libelous.

its a nice effort but could use a few more
benji canot sing too well…some of his lyrics are about sexual issues in the main….and he is not cute…watch the mouth…but he has revolutionized some of the bouyon for better or for worse. I don’t think that he has the class or potential of professionalism like Colton T or ASSA Banton or Shadow Flow or sweet AsherThomas or Dice etc. Benji lacks the charisma and needs a face job and the help of a make up artist is suggested also Machel Montano and others do the same and they are naturally cute ; most less for those whose face needs some lift. But again face is nt all ; a great voice and stage presence is needed. But again some ugly-ish artist have some other great attributes which a good face cannot always give to you e.g respect, discipline and good manners and respect for the women folks and kids especially in the lyrical contents and treatment of their women etc.
