A total of 4 mass shootings were confirmed to have taken place in the United States over this past weekend all within a space of 24 hours.
The incidents occurred in separate states including Texas, Michigan, Pennsylvania and North Carolina.
In the deadliest of these recent spate of shootings a Mormon church was attacked in Grand Blanc Michigan where a former marine killed 4 people and injured 8 others before being gunned down by authorities.
The gunman who rammed a pickup truck into the crowded church building then proceeded to light a massive blaze which effectively destroyed the Church structure.
The North Carolina and Mormon Church shooters have both been described as Iraq war veterans.
Similar mass shooting sprees have occurred within the US including one set of incidents in 2023 that saw 5 dead and 56 injured.
Another spree of shootings in Chicago over a particularly deadly Labour day weekend in 2025 saw 8 dead and 58 people shot.
