Dominica Labour Party (DLP) candidate for the Salisbury Constituency Lynsia Frank has said she is saddened by the fact that she was defeated during the December 6 general elections, but plans to “work hard” for every constituent.
Frank spoke to Dominica News Online (DNO) during an interview following the swearing-in of Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit.
Frank was defeated by Independent Candidate Jesma Paul.
According to preliminary results, Paul defeated the DLP candidate 617 to 463 votes.
“I am saddened by the fact that I lost but I plan to put her best foot forward for my constituents,” she said.
She continued, “At the end of the day it is still a victory for us. Moving forward I am going to keep the same energy and like I promised I will still be there for every constituent.”
Frank added, “I am still going to work hard for my constituents.”
She went on to state that the people of the Salisbury constituency turned out in large numbers to vote.
“We all know that Salisbury is a stronghold of the United Workers Party…,” she stated. “They mobilized and turned out to vote.”
Young lady there’s nothing to be saddened about, you only lost because the cowards within the ranks of the UWP camp who called for a boycott,saw the effort failing, cried lord, please support the independent or if not spoil the ballots,no balls party,now the joker x PR is whispering in the ear of the independent candidate like Satan, please keep my legacy alive for me while am dead, friggin clown 🤡
Sorry “baby-girl” you were in the right church (Bawi) but in the wrong pew (DLP) better luck next time; the Republic of Salisbury will never accept your brand of (skerrit) politics.
Miss Frank, this is a very sad story because what the dlp is doing for Dominica, is worthy of a victory for you in Salisbury. But maybe Earl and Eddison drank from the poison challace years ago. Skerrit hate Salisbury yet he is bringing development there that will directly and indirectly benefit so many people. I don’t understand the primitive thinking that still exist in 2022. Look at the history of the US elections to see states that once voted blue then red or vice versa. Its all about progress and development and who you believe can do what. Well its clear that the people’s foot are stuck in the mud because Hector didn’t do one heck for them and they love it, so good luck ms Frank, frankly speaking I didn’t wish I were you, having to deal with such blind thinking ppl.
The only difference in numbers were 159, how all you saying Bawi strong yet still she got so many votes, I expected to see different.

If she had gone up against UWP it would’ve been different because alot of people didn’t vote so that made the numbers close she knows very well that she stands no chance in this constituency and it’s not just about the people of Salisbury don’t forget the people of coulibistrie and Morne Rachette as well so just saying….

They condemned the Election, yet, they know who won and who lost. It tells me that they were following the proceedings of the Election. These UWP supporters make no sense at all.

Lynsia, you are saddened because you thought it would have been a walk in the park going up against a no-name independent candidate. Perhaps that will indicate to you the level of hate the Salisbury constituency has for Skerrit. You should not forget how Skerrit has treated your people. At this stage, I would be willing to bet the people of Salisbury would rather vote for a broom stick than for DLP.
