Daryl Titre, a well-known figure in the media industry and a staunch supporter of the Dominican Labour Party, has recently relocated to the neighboring islands of Antigua and Barbuda.
According to sources in St John’s, Titre has been appointed to a senior position at the Antigua and Barbuda Broadcasting Station (ABS), which is a government-owned media outlet.
He is expected to work in the television production and news producing department and has already been introduced to his soon-to-be staff.
Titre is reportedly on vacation leave from his position as Head of the Government Information Service (GIS) in Dominica.
The media veteran has an extensive background in journalism and public relations, having worked in the industry for many years in Dominica.
He also studied Architecture and Urban Planning at the Beijing University of Technology (BJUT), in China.
Guy very few Dominicans in America in this century are documented, hence they they are dependent on someone to feed them, so I don’t see what they can do to develop America.
Some who are legal spends their time cooking dumplings and salt fish, and getting inebriated.
Others who may have a job or manage to live of the welfare system, save the few pence they get to travel between America, and Dominica, so that they can show Dominicans in Dominica, how often they can travel in and out of America.
Try and find out how many of them green card was taken away from them while entering the United States over the years.

It is my contention that one of the weakest professions in these small islands is journalism. It’s sad, as the news media has the strongest influence in society The news media can make or break governments, companies, social or political organisations, et cetera.
Not many people in this part of the world gravitate to journalism today. It is not a very lucrative profession. One will find that many people working in this field have had insufficient training.
Today, one finds that our journalists, instead of being watchdogs to expose corruption and other wrongdoings of governments, in particular, they become lapdogs of politicians in power. Dominica, Antigua & Barbuda especially, are two glaring examples.
