2025 DABA Knockout Cup initiates season

The Dominica Amateur Basketball Association (DABA) is set to kick off the 2025 basketball season with the DABA Knockout Cup, scheduled to begin on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the Massacre Indoor Sports Complex.

The Knockout Cup will include 17 participating teams, made up of 7 Premier League clubs and 10 teams from the First Division, competing in a single-elimination format. DABA shared via press release that this event aims to engage basketball enthusiasts throughout the island with exciting matchups, unexpected outcomes, and an initial glimpse of the upcoming season.

The final match of the Knockout Cup will take place on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at which point one team will earn the esteemed title of Knockout Cup champion.

Regular Season Format – Commences May 8, 2025

Following the conclusion of the Knockout Cup, the 2025 Regular Season will expand to include 18 teams, as an additional First Division club joins the fray.

– Premier Division: 7 Teams
– Format: Double Round-Robin (Two Full Rounds)

– First Division: 11 Teams
– Format: Single Round-Robin (One Round)

This competition format is designed to create a balanced and competitive atmosphere, offering teams numerous chances to demonstrate their development, depth, and aspirations for the championship.

– Tigers vs. Real Time Ballers at 7 PM
– D-Treads Blazers 2 vs. PSC Falcons 2 at 9 PM

– Thursday, April 24
– 767 SC Dominators vs. Ole Skool at 7 PM
– BAA Sharks vs. 767 SC Young Ballers at 7 PM

– Friday, April 25
– Police Sports Club vs. Jah Lions at 7 PM
– PSC Falcons 1 vs. Seahawks at 9 PM

Venue:

All Knockout Cup matches will be hosted at the Massacre Indoor Sports Complex, with entry available one hour prior to game time.

DABA extends an invitation to supporters, families, and community members to attend and cheer for their teams as the season of national basketball returns.
