The first two offerings for Junior Calypso Monarch have been released, and although both pieces have distinctive sounds, what unites them is the sage advice for the youth—and for any age group—that underlies the catchy beats and rhythms.
The first song, “Jump Like Thea”, is performed by Tyce “Mighty T” Faustin from St. Mary’s Academy. This lively track was written by Tyce Faustin. The background vocals are provided by Tasha “Tasha P” Peltier, while the instrumental arrangement includes bass guitar by Fred Nicholas and rhythm and lead guitar by Daryl “King Bob” Bob. The recording took place at Home Alone Studios in Fond Cole, and the final mix was done by Wayne Benjamin at the same studio. The song was then mastered by Cornel Phillip at Imperial Publishing in Roseau, Dominica.
With production reminiscent of the “kaiso” of days gone by, the second track, “A Time for Everything”, is performed by Allyssa Louisy. Known simply as “Allysa”, she attends the Goodwill Secondary School. It was also written by Ian Jackson and has been mixed and mastered by the Signal Band.
Enjoy!
