Alexta Francis charged with murder of Antiguan MP Asot Michael

Police in Antigua and Barbuda have charged 27-year-old Golden Grove resident Alexta Francis with the murder of St Peter Member of Parliament, Hon. Asot Michael.

The murder charge follows his confession to investigators who had been questioning him since his arrest on Thursday.

Francis reportedly showed investigators key evidence and also insisted he had no accomplice.

The motive for the fatal stabbing of the MP is expected to be revealed during the pending court proceedings against him.

Francis has reportedly had previous run-ins with the law, including Malicious Damage and Escaping Lawful Custody.

This is a major development within days of the MP’s murder, which sent shockwaves across the nation. Michael, who was an independent legislator, was found in a pool of blood in his Dry Hill home on Tuesday.

Boy you remember when the house of GON Emmanuel was firebombed, who the police arrested? You remember he had issues with the police and law? Hmmm. I just find it strange that that they saw it fit to say that so early into the death of a former MP:
“Francis reportedly showed investigators key evidence and also insisted he had no accomplice”

Reasons why i think people like that should be executed in quick order by hanging, electrocution, etc, etc,.
So the man is dead, and the accused is going to be in jail eating, drinking, laughing, dancing, etc.
