The Kalinago Child Support Foundation Inc. (KCSF) has announced that its Executive Director, Amanda Theodore Langlais, is the recipient of the Community and Cultural Impact Award at the Caribbean POSH Icon Women Awards 2025. The award was presented during the Caribbean POSH Weekend, which took place in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, stated a press release from the Foundation.
The Caribbean POSH Icon Women Awards is an annual that “[celebrates] trailblazing women across the region who are shaping industries, uplifting communities, and preserving culture.” The press release further said that the award received by Amanda Theodore Langlais acknowledges the work being done by the KCSF in promoting education, empowerment, and preserving the Kalinago heritage.
This year’s awards ceremony also recognized and honored a number of other Caribbean and global influencers, including actress and director Aisha Hinds, known for her performance as Henrietta “Hen” Wilson on FOX’s 9-1-1; Keithlin Caroo-Afrifa, an agricultural activist and founder of Helen’s Daughters Inc; Patrice Roberts, a celebrated soca artist; and Cedella Marley, known in the fashion and music industry, who was honored for her dedication to philanthropy and cultural empowerment.
According to Langlais, “These phenomenal women represent the best of Caribbean excellence. To be recognized among such powerful changemakers is humbling and empowering. This award belongs to every child, family, and supporter who believes in our mission.”
Listed on its Facebook as “a non-profit organization working to develop, and empower our Kalinago children”, KCSF has expressed gratitude to those who voted and continue to support its vision. The foundation stated that it remains committed to its mission of creating a lasting impact in the Kalinago Territory and beyond, and this award is a significant milestone in its journey.
