Andesse Thomas of Portsmouth called to the bar, promises contribution to public law

Attorney Andesse Thomas

New Attorney-at-Law Andesse Thomas has made a commitment to work with integrity and serve with diligence.

Thomas, who is a resident of Portsmouth was called to the bar during a ceremony held at the Roseau High Court on Thursday.

“I will uphold the high ethical standards expected of an Attorney at Law, not only to my clients but to the court and to fellow counsel,” she said. “I will work with integrity and dignity and serve with diligence.”

Thomas also promised to offer assistance towards the advancement and development of the country’s laws and, in particular, public law where required.

“I will look out for the less fortunate who deserve legal representation and I will do my part where possible to help them when they need representation,” she stated.

Thomas further promises to continue to promote and actuate community, development, and unity.

“I wish to be practical in my method of contributing to the development of the legal fraternity in Dominica,” she noted.

Moreover, Thomas indicated that one of the most practical steps, in her opinion, is to become an active member of the Dominica Bar Association.

Her advice to other young people and anyone who may need to hear it is  that “with God, with focus and something that is very important and forgotten by most, a positive attitude, a positive mindset, success is possible.”

“Do not cast your dreams aside,” Thomas advised.
