
Miss Ardel Laurent will no longer be participating in the upcoming Miss Dominica Queen Pageant. The announcemnet came via press release from Discover Dominica Authority (DDA), in collaboration with the Dominica Festivals Committee (DFC).
It explains that her withdrawal is due to personal issues that require her undivided attention and care. In a personal statement, Laurent conveyed her gratitude for the opportunity to compete and thanked everyone for the support she received throughout her journey in the pageant.
“This was not an easy decision to make, as I truly value and appreciate the opportunity to be a part of such a prestigious event. I am grateful for the experience, the support and the kindness shown to me throughout the process,” she stated.
The DDA and DFC report that they have expressed their understanding and extend their best wishes to Miss Laurent and her family during this period.
“We respect Ms. Laurent’s decision and wish her continued success in her future endeavors. She has shown great promise and professionalism throughout the competition,” said Monelle Alexis, Public Relations and Communications Specialist at the Discover Dominica Authority.
According to the release, preparations for the 2026 Miss Dominica Queen Pageant are moving forward smoothly, with the remaining contestants continuing their preparations for the event set for February 12, 2026, as part of Dominica’s Carnival festivities.
