Assistant police commissioner says expect increased police presence

ACP Alleyne Maximea addressing Tuesday press conference

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Alleyne Maximea has assured the public that the Dominica Police Force is ready to perform its duties during the 2025 festive season.

He made the disclosure during the weekly World Creole Music Festival (WCMF) press conference on Tuesday.

“The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force is ready to perform its role at this year’s World Creole Music Festival,” he said. “We are ready to perform our duties.”

According to Maximea, all plans are in place to ensure that patrons of the festival enjoy themselves in a safe environment.

“As a consequence of this, people are expected to see an increased presence of the police in uniform and plain clothes in the City of Roseau and environs,” he stated.

He made it clear that the police “will not tolerate any transgressions as it pertains to the laws of the Commonwealth of Dominica.”

“You can be assured that anyone who disturbs the peace and breaches the law during these activities will be dealt with to the full extent of the law,” Maximea warned.

What’s new about an increased police presence in the public sphere during the biggest local festival? That’s simply common sense. Does the Assistant Commissioner want credit for something as mundane as that? That’s like saying you are going to close the windows and lock the doors of the house when I’m not at home. Man come with something more substantive.

Hot debate. What do you think? Thumb up 6 Thumb down 3

Does such a commonsense statement by the Assistant Commisioner of Police require such an idiotic response? The Assistant commissioner is just telling the criminals out there that the police will be watching so they should cancel there criminal plans. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT IBO FRANCE!!!
