Grenadian Heidi Vincent has announced the release of her fourth devotional book titled “BE STRONG: A 91-day devotional for steadfast Catholics.”

Vincent told the story, via statement, behind her inspiration for this devotional as marking the fulfillment of her commitment to publish two devotionals during the Jubilee Year of Hope:

“In 1230, a 16-year-old Belgian nun, now St Juliana of Liège (1192 b. – 1258 d.), had a recurring vision in which “…the full moon appeared to her in brilliant light, while a part of its disc remained black and lightless”. In a subsequent vision, Christ revealed to her that, “The moon represented the ecclesiastical year; the black spot indicated the
lack of a festival in honor of the Blessed Sacrament. She was to announce to the authorities of the Church that God wished such a feast to be established” (Weiser, 1958, as cited in Catholic Culture, n.d.).

On September 8, 1264, Pope Urban IV established that feast for the whole Church, in honor of the Holy Eucharist, which “…was to be celebrated with great solemnity on the Thursday after Pentecost week, and indulgences were granted to all who would receive Holy Communion or attend special devotions in addition to hearing Mass” (Weiser, 1958, as cited in Catholic Culture, n.d.). Today, Catholics in Dominica and many parts of the world continue to celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, also known as Corpus Christi.”

Coinciding with this celebration of the Eucharist, which is described in the Catechism of the Catholic Church as “the source and summit of the Christian life” (paragraph 1324), the author revealed that the publication aims to support believers in deepening their spiritual journey during this sacred time.

According to her, this book offers a refreshing spiritual refuge amid the daily duties and responsibilities faced by practicing Catholics. It aims to provide spiritual, mental, and emotional strength to help believers persevere on their earthly pilgrimage and remain resilient as they journey toward their heavenly home.
