Former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Dominica Air and Sea Ports Authority (DASPA), Benoit Bardouille, is expected to take up his new position today. The prime minister previously announced that Mr. Bardouille who served as CEO of DASPA for many years would become an ambassador and advisor for Dominica.
“As I announced, Mr. Bardouille would be appointed as an ambassador and will also be engaged as an advisor to the prime minister and the government on a number of issues,” Prime minister Skerrit said while addressing his end-of-year press conference held recently.
He continued, “I will meet with Mr. Bardouille on Monday, so that we can welcome him to the Office of the Prime Minister…”
Skerrit explained that Mr. Bardouille’s engagement would have already started, however, the former DASPA CEO was out of state for a few days.
“He is back,” the Prime Minister said.
Former minister in the Government of Dominica, Ian Pinard, who replaced Mr. Bardouille assumed his previously-held position effective Monday, December 2, 2024.
Ian Pinard served concurrently as the member of Parliament for the Soufriere Constituency and the Minister for Public Works and Ports before resigning as a minister of government on March 2, 2016, and as a parliamentarian on April 26 of that same year, amid allegations of inappropriate behavior.
After stepping down from his ministerial role, Pinard held the position of Acting General Manager at Petro Caribe Dominica for some time.
