BBC News reports: A major breakthrough has been announced by US scientists in the race to recreate nuclear fusion.
Physicists have pursued the technology for decades as it promises a potential source of near-limitless clean energy.
On Tuesday researchers confirmed they have overcome a major barrier – producing more energy from a fusion experiment than was put in.
But experts say there is still some way to go before fusion powers homes.

This is so old, it has been 10K + yrs years since evidence shows of man’s awareness of the Atom, and 7k years since man have split the atom and also meticulously placed huge mansion size rocks 43 stories high in the building of pyramids. However, way back c 30 BC the Romans decimated the Egyptian high-priests that had the knowledge but romans never thought anyone would need that knowledge. Thus western civilization, still unable to figure HOW the massive pyramids were built 8k yrs ago, knocked back a few thousand years as a result feels deprived; today they are trying to save face as if they again invent something new. Nothing new here.
It took almost 70 years of research to accomplish this, costing billions of dollars in the process. It is another of God gift to America, and humankind in general which one would hope it is only used in all good for the benefit of the world.
The average Dominican is no doubt extremely grateful for this story, DNO. But what we really want is some figures, i.e. voter turnout in %, total valid votes, total invalid votes, registered voters. Where are these figures? Why do we have to ask for them? I know for a fact that Skerrit doesn’t want some figures to be published, i.e. voter turnout, total invalid votes and the total of registered voters. We demand to see these figures! Do you job properly, DNO and force the electoral office to give you these figures.

How many people in Dominica studied nuclear Fusion; In California where I live, and the research was conducted, the progress is considered among scientist, and nuclear physicist as “ignition;” it may take another fifty years or more before it is utilized, so what purpose is hearing about something, with no actual knowledge of what it is going to benefit Dominica?
For your information fusion ignition means the point where a nuclear fusion reaction becomes self-sustaining, beyond that, scientist have a long way to go before it can be used for the benefit of humans!
I would not be surprised to hear the science and technology came out of Dominica!
