President of the National Cooperative Credit Union (NCCU), Euan James said the institution will focus on four pillars to further improve its services.
He made the disclosure while addressing the NCCU 13th Annual General Meeting held at the Goodwill Parish Hall on Tuesday.
According to James, the four pillars are excellent member services, loan growth, delinquency management, and diversification of income streams.
“In the member excellence, our aim is to redesign all branches so there can be synergy across all the branches,” James explained. “When you enter one branch you enter all.”
He continued, “It is also a redesign for comfort and to enhance the service experience for all.”
He mentioned further that the NCCU will be establishing a member care centre to assist.
“We have heard on countless occasions how difficult it is to get someone in the NCCU and so we are establishing a member care centre, staff that will be on the phones, social media, and other methods of communication, just waiting for you to call,” James explained.
Furthermore, he stated that to improve the institution’s excellent member services, plans are in place to develop a new branch, “a virtual branch”.
“Many of us are busy, many of us do not have the time to stay in a line,” he noted. “We need to enhance the services to develop our member experience from the comfort of their home, and so our aim is for the member to be able to do most of their transactions at the comfort of their home.”
James added, “We are also seeking to create a drive-through service where you could access most of NCCU’s services in the comfort of your vehicle.”
He went on to state that the NCCU also plans to introduce a corporate branch for corporate members.
“We are not a bank, but our members have businesses too and we need to create the environment for our members to enhance their business life,” James indicated.
He said the NCCU is also embarking on joint efforts with the cooperatives within the region.
“We are on a drive to cooperate with our sister credit unions within the region, so that services could be extended to all our members across the region, no matter where you are,” he revealed.
The NCCU 13th AGM is being celebrated under the theme “Facing the Future Together … Your Community Financial Partner.”

Also toilet services for members ( given the long length of time waiting in queues). And hopefully improvement in customer service at member services in Roseau. The treatment ( NOT by all but one lady in particular) is AWFUL!
I hope these improvements include scanning checks using the NCCU app (there isn’t one btw) on your phone. In this day and age there is no reason why we have to physically bring in checks to deposit your money. In the developed countries if you have a check from your bank all you have to do is scan that check using your phone and the money gets deposited into your account!
